This is a pretty little restaurant on two floors themed with winter sports pictures and equipment. There were a lot of locals eating there which we took as a good sign. Service was quick and very pleasant. The food comes in very large portions and the specialities are fondues, raclettes and meat dishes. Wine is by the bottle or much cheaper pichets. Having eaten at lunchtime we both ordered salads. Very fresh with local seasonal ingredients but absolutely huge. Sadly we could not finish them but everything we saw being served looked lovely. Very good value meal.

Cuisine Traditionnelle Bistro Sur Place Et à Emporter (sur Réservation) à Découvrir. Plats Cuisinés Sur Plats Par Une Ãquipe De Professionnelle.
We opted for a la carte rather than the set menu but all the food looked great. The steak was excellent and the carafes of wine were well priced with a good selection. Service was surprisingly good for a small French restaurant and the overall price was also surprisingly good. Not the best place in Chalons but if you want good French food presented well without a big bill, come here.

We had an aperitif of ratafia, which I haven't had for years, at the bar, where we had a few canapés/amuses bouches, including a delicious aspargus cream with a lemon foam. The meal itself was very good, and good value; a 4 course menu at â¬65, and we able to swap pud for the excellent cheese trolley. Highlights were probably a salad of langoustines and orange, and pigeon. A decent bottle of burgundy for â¬50 ish was fair value (by French restaurant standards). The maitre d'hotel very decently warned us off the more expensive local red, Bouzy.Overall, not a sensational dinner, but a very enjoyable one. I think that the restaurant this place Hotel d'Angleterre) used ot have a Michelin star. I'm not sure that the current restaurant is going togetone at the moment, but it's probably better value for it, and well worth a visit if you're in the area.Dear Guest,We thank you very much for your trust and for your visit.Your feedback is highly appreciated. We are constantly trying to improve the quality standards that our guests are entitled to receive and all the comments are welcome. Great little but popular restaurant, booking advised but not essential. Offer a number of menus or a la carte. 27 euro for weekend menu with additional starter for free. Great house wine. We had wonderful seafood salad and salmon terrine. Fish and lamb mains very well presented and tasty. Tiramisu pud plus coffee. Recommended. Staff good.

Normally I don't review restaurant chains, but I found this restaurant to be very nice. They have a great selection of mussels and good beer on tap. There are other things to eat besides mussels, but I really liked the mussels and "frites." I had both lunch and dinner at this place; reservations might be needed on busy nights or on weekends for lunch. I recommend this restaurant.

We were lucky to find parking near-by. We had not booked and were lucky to get a table. By the time we had eaten, every table was taken. Tempting menu. Very informal. This is not a quiet corner!! Food was really good; not fancy, just well cooked and well presented. Aircon very welcome on a hot and sticky noght.

We just managed to get a table as the restaurant was busy! We chose the 2 course set price menu (28â¬) which was very nice indeed. Service was excellent throughout until it came to getting the bill... we waited ages for that! Would definitely recommend it.Dear Madam,Dear Guest,We thank you very much for your visit.
We have enjoyed a very good Champagne, a good Pommard and good cooked food of constant quality dish after dish. We have however regretted that one of the waitresses had been too direct, that the Riz de Veau was a little too cooked. It would also be a good idea to rethink the decoration with an expert.Nous vous remercions de passage dans notre établissement familial et sommes ravis de votre commentaire sur notre prestation, nous ferons le maximum pour vous satisfaire à nouveau en nous améliorant si vous repassez dans notre région !!!

Our group dined here in October 2018. Our late arrival was well catered, even though most clients had already left the restaurant as we arrived. Staff spoke very good English, and happily so since our group was equipped with very limited French skills. The menu provided plenty of options and even some of our group members had dietary requirements and they were all well taken care of. Delicious food from appetisers to desserts, fish, meat and vegetarian options. Somewhat pricy, but well worth it. And extremely service oriented staff.

Let's be honest the food is not bad but the prices are obnoxious when you see the size of the portions. One grilled Asparagus for $20 compete with one single leak at the same price. More over the Director, who owns a nice Weimaraner dog, hates Americans. He said in front of me " Ces cons d'américains" i.e. Those dumb Americans! It is in the middle of nowhere ad my fellow US fcitizens should avoid it definitively. No comment...
