Impromptu visit for lunch while passing and what a find it was. Great food and friendly service. There was a sense of happiness about the place.

Last time I was here, several years ago, it was a little run-down and shabby. It is now under new ownership and has been smartened up considerably, decorated inside and out and has new furniture. Service was friendly, efficient and very well presented. The plates for hot food were themselves hot, which was appreciated. Not cheap, but worth paying more for quality.

So pleased to find this restaurant - we had followed the Loire from Saumer and were beginning to think we had missed the opportunity for lunch when we discovered La Corniche - thinking it to be hobson's choice. How wrong can you be? We enjoyed an excellent lunch for a great price, despite the restaurant only having been open 2 weeks! Very friendly owners too.

Don't come here if you want a 'side of lettuce' or English spoken. We eat here because we couldn't get in to the Brasserie that had been recommended by our landlady in the chambre d'hôte and, I'm very happy to say, were not at all disappointed. In a quiet spot behind the Town Hall with quite a limited menu and a welcoming terrace, this is a good old school restaurant. The emphasis definitely on what is on the plate, the quality of ingredients and visual attractiveness. the wine list was mostly local, as you might expect in this region, with a few other reds from burgundy and bordeaux. Everything proper and correct, but it rather lacked atmosphere.

What a delightful little restaurant ! Conveniently located on the banks of the Loire river, the food is simply exquisite (I recommend the "planche" menu). Winding down over a glass of Savennieres while baking in the glorious evening sun was a wonderful experience. The town itself is worth a visit as is a walk along the banks.Make sure you book in advance !thank you to you for your review . We are happy that you got a pleasant time .cordially

Located in the heart of Loire vineyards in Chalonnes sur Loire near Angers, the creperie Au Gre du Vent welcomes guests in its newly renovated warm atmosphere that you will evoke the seaside. We take pride in offering you a gourmet break and friendly. We
Homemade crepes and galettes, delicious, served by Mary, made by her husband. We tried their no alcoholic cidre, nothing to do with apple juice, not as sweat, just perfect. Mary makes the deserts. Try the "cafe gourmant", one cafe with 3 little deserts. The creme au chocolat is like the one your mother used to make. Mummmm i can't wait to go back

Recommended by a local, unpretentious, with a nice position, by the river, offers delicious comfort food from burgers to baked Camembert. Both were delicious. Plus the creme brûlée, fantastic. And a special word for the service, excellent! Nice stop. Memorable.

We arrived to Challonnes late on a Sunday night when most places are closed but the staff here were very welcoming even though it was very busy. We had lovely local cuisine and the salad was so fresh, delicious!
