Things to do in Castelnaudary

Well situated close to the motorway exit for Castelnaudary and near the adjoining Ibis Budget Hotel. The place is frequented by locals taking lunch and travellers alike.Good basic fare, salad buffet, set meals, all prices. Comfortable enough but close to other diners in the large open modern spaces. Not for romantic dining but assuaging appetite.Service is prompt and brisk. Not a place I would wish to linger beyond lunch or dinner when pressed for time.

Driving through Castelnaudrey stopped on impulse to try the Cassoulet which was advertised on a sign outside. The inclusive menu at 19 euros was very good value and included a very tasty cheese salad dish to start with, cassoulet and a tarte de tartin for dessert. Not an expert on Cassoulet but I got a huge dish, piping hot and a lovely flavour and I was impressed. The lady who looked after service was very pleasant - overall was delighted with my final food experience before the return home.

Called in for drinks on a very hot afternoon. Service friendly enough, drinks a little on the pricey side we thought - had recently bought exactly the same round, 50cl beer and Coke for 2.5 ⬠less.Nice views however.Dear customerThanks for your advice. We try always to have low prices ,with an excellent quality of service and food home madeWe expect to see you soon again

Although this restaurant specialises in meat dishes, they were more than accommodating for one of our party who does not eat meat. Stephanie (our waitress) was charming and helpful - she speaks excellent English, having been an Au Pair in the UK, and we can't wait to return.

We've been coming here on and off now for the past 5 years whenever in Castelnaudary and rarely disappointed. The service and welcome has always been helpful, charming and warm. The ambience inside or out is always pleasant and the food generally very consistent. The house tarte au citron is truly excellent. We had a great meal this week again, though I confess the razor clams and pelourdes entree were a little 'gritty' and could have been purged better, and also this normallu warm to hot dish was cool at best... maybe an off night but with only 3 tables it should have been better. We really like this place and will still keep coming back.

From the Palmes to the Belle Epoque, The restoration is for us a profession But above all a passion. From Pierre Poggioli in 1956 to Jean-Pierre, since 1980, The know-how, like our cassoulet, king dish with us, Is transmitted from father to son. The Belle
We visited unannounced on a Thursday evening (Party of 8). The town was quiet and we were the only people in the restaurant.A table for the party was quickly arranged. The food/drink was very acceptable plus attentive, polite and efficient service.Only downside was at least 35% of the menu choices were unavailable : No Duck or Salmon fillet, which meant a couple in the party had to do a rethink.

We picked this restaurant out since it was close to where we were staying, despite the fact that it wasn't on the list of recommended restaurants from the place where we were staying. Good choice. A small, cozy family run restaurant. Not fancy, but food very good, good value, good atmosphere. No need for anything more.

Hôtel Clos Fleuri is located near the Midi Canal, between Toulouse and Carcassonne. A free WiFi connection, The hotel's restaurant serves local cuisine which varies from season to season, with dishes accompanied by local wines. Hôtel's restaurant Clos Fle
In August everyone eats outside for dinner as the sun goes down and the patio area is secluded and beautiful. The service is great and staff friendly and speak adequate English. While I was a bit disappointed with the chef's specialty: the cassoulet maison (too many beans, only one sausage, good-size duck's leg, sauce not flavourful enough for my perhaps-jaded palet), my vegetarian wife loved her pasta with vegetables and the entrée of local cantaloupe & prosciutto-style ham was great as were our crème brulees for desert. The wine the manager recommended was good and we felt overall, while not a restaurant we'd write home about, the quality/price ratio was favourable. The is NOT a nouvelle cuisine restaurant, for which I personally was thankful.

We were a party of 18 people celebrating the end of a Canal du Midi cruise and a milestone birthday. I had been in touch with David a few weeks in advance setting everything up. He was extremely responsive and accommodating. He and his staff made sure we had a fantastic experience. All 18 people loved their dinner - how often does this happen? Wine offerings were reasonably priced.

This wonderful restaurant is (almost) in the center of Castelnaudary but feels as if it is in the country. The cassoulet is one of the best I have eaten, and I have eaten a lot of cassoulet over the years. We dined out on the terrace on a hot Sunday afternoon. I had the cassoulet ice cream for desert â a great choice of vanilla ice cream topped with a couple of sugar wafers shaped like the beans in cassoulet.Bonjour,Un très grand merci pour votre commentaire qui nous fait très plaisir. Nous sommes ravis de vous avoir donné satisfaction, à bientôt, Jean-Claude Visentin Maitre Restaurateur.
