Nice service and warm welcome. Service was a bit slow because there was only one person the day we ate there. Good French food, and compares well with anything in cloae surroundings, but dont expect a huge surprise either. A little bit expensive.

We are delighted that the restaurant Clavero has opened. This is a great contribution to the village of Claviers. The Hungarian chef Gergely is serving creative and tasteful dishes. With the professional help of the Claviers native waiter, Guillaume. We have already been there twice and will make it our Sunday routine for lunch.

We booked for 8pm but the lady in charge was keen we should come at 7.30 which we thought was a good sign as it must be busy. Not so ..... we arrived to find one other couple halfway through their meal. It soon became clear that she wanted to finish up early and was in a terrible rush for us to order and then to clear away our plates. The starters were pretty bog standard - eg. a large tasteless prawn with shredded lettuce, as were the puddings which seemed to be straight from the freezer aisle. However the steak and veal were amazing quality and perfectly cooked. So ...a very mixed bag but perfect if you don't might about atmosphere and you're in a hurry !

The majority the food is cooked in a wood fired oven, all the seating is outside and looks in on the cooking process, the waitress is lovely and flies around the tables ensuring everyone is looked after. Delicious and imaginative food in wonderful surroundings.

Off season, cold, rainy day, and us hungry on a day when most local restaurants were closed for Toussaint holiday. But not La Fontaine, and it was warm and welcoming. Reasonable "formule midi" lunch, prix fixe. The service was friendly, the facilities clean, and the setting nicely (and naturally) retro.

Callas is a beautiful village in the Vars region, and we were taken to this restaurant by some lovely friends. We went for the menu of the day, and included in this was a carafe of wine and the water. The food and service were excellent. A lovely relaxing leisurely lunch.Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment, we hope to welcome you again at the Moulin next time you are in the area

It was restaurant week in France with many restaurants participating in the 2 for 1 offer. This was one of the participating restaurants. We were given a table on the terrace as requested, and given the special menu for the offer. 4 starters, of which we would receive all 4 (2 of each), a choice of 4 main courses and 4 desserts, all for 35 Euros for both of us. Fantastic value. The food was superb - foie gras on toast with fig jam, chopped salmon and cucumber in a sauce in small glasses, thin smoked ham with shaved parmesan cheese, and pieces of cheesy pizza, all for starters. We oth had the beef fillet which cut like and dream and tasted just as good. Only very minor criticism, it wiuld have been nice ot have just a few vegetables, and less french fries.I had a gooey chocolate fondant, and my husband a gaspacho of pineapple with ice. All very very tasty. Good bottle of Brouilly, plus water, and we left feeling great. Would highly recommend this place.
