On recommendation from NY Times article 2007. Visited for special occasion on a Saturday evening - lucky advance booking made as restaurant full by 8.30pm. Maitre de was very formal - first to arrive and ushered to nice table in middle of room...for fine dining, no table cloths..? Given menus with little explanation although I made an effort to converse in French. Other wait staff very friendly and helpful. If French language limited, suggest translation in advance (list available outside the restaurant). Choice of fish/seafood and meat dishes: good selection for non seafood eaters. Had to choose all courses at beginning of order. Maitre de not customer friendly and we felt rushed through the meal (3courses).

Between Xmas and New Year it is always tricky finding restaurants that are open...so this was a lovely surprise. We visited the village on a trip to Normandy and found this restaurant open! Yippee-We had a good meal, freshly cooked and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The scallops were fresh and perfectly cooked and the desserts simple but good. Good value for the price we paid. The restaurant is quite lovely-brimming with lovely paintings, chandeliers and charm...I recommend it wholeheartedly.Thank you indeed for your compliments.Laurent

We welcome you in a simple and family atmosphere with traditional cuisine. The whole family can satisfy its taste buds, passing by the omelette, the pieces of beef, the head of Veau, or our of Saint Jacques. And to fully enjoy the sunny days, we have a qu
Incredible friendly family who run the place. The food is typical french regional cuisine.Nothing to special but honest and tasty everyday french food. And indeed very cheap for what you get. I would recommend this place for lunch only as it is deserted in the evening. Might be a seasonal thing. It's mid March now. Apparently they do have rooms upstairs and the landlady assured me they are modern, clean etc. She didn't give me the impression she wasn't telling the truth. When I bought a bottle of wine to go (10 Euro) I also needed a corkscrew. The Landlady gave me an excellent corkscrew in a box(brand new and a solid piece of kit) and refused to take any money for it. I felt very home in this place and I think I will be back for lunch in two weeks time.

We have eaten here many times. Decided to have a long Saturday Lunch, in celebration of my partner's birthday. Pushed the boat out and had the Plaisir des gourmets. Absolutely phenomenal. Cannot say anymore. Karin and Laurent have a exeptionally fine restaurant, which is our favourite in France!! Allready looking forward to our next visit.

This little bakery offers a formula lunch to take away or sit and eat at the pretty pink tables and chairs outside the shop. For 6 euros you choose a sandwich, a cold drink and a cake. The pastry on the flan (a cake rather like a slice of egg custard tart) was as light as a feather and much enjoyed by both of us. Beware, though, of visiting in August as for much of the month the shop will be closed for annual holidays.

I went to this restaurant with family on Boxing Day as my fiancé's aunt who lives in nearby Nogent-le-Rotrou recommended it. It was great value for money and it was clear it was a popular/full family run restaurant which was great. The food was excellent. I had a steak with gratin and others had the guinea fowl in a cream mushroom sauce or steak frites. Desserts were excellent too with a brilliant crème brulee. Was good value for money also. Will definitely return there when visiting the family again. I would recommend to book in advance as they had to turn away customers as they were so busy and we wouldn't have gotten in (table of 9) without a reservation.

My wife and I visited Belleme last month and wanted a light lunch. We popped in to Bellemoise and ordered a salad each and a couple of drinks.Though simply decorated, the place is bright and airy and the service was quick and efficient. Against my expectations, my salad was truly excellent. Much better than I'd expected or hoped-for in what is basically a small local café. My wife was also delighted with her meal. We had been hoping for a light lunch, what we got was a salad symphony!

I was planning to eat at the golf course as I needed to check it out for a client-the restaurant was shut. I tried several other restaurants who offered me badly placed tables, which I refused. This hotel/restaurant had an impressively short menu so I gave it a try. A nice welcome, inspite of me presenting a little late on a Sunday,a choice of tables...great. It started well and continued well. The fish of the day was cod, roasted and served with a simple beurre blanc sauce, braised fennel and quinoa with apple.Very well cooked. The Panacotta with apricots was a little too firm for my taste but was flavoursome. Service polite and professional. I would recommend and will return. Thanks for a lovely Sunday lunch.

As soon as we walked into this wine shop-cum-restaurant I knew it would be good. Lovely staff, nice simple set-up and loads of excellent wines by the glass, bottle and to take away. We had some delicious snacks - including some black pig prosciutto. A hearty bowl of lamb stew with sweet potato and two great desserts, which included discs of thinly sliced sharp apple with crumbled goat cheese and honey. Odd but worked. Anyway we loved it all, drank some delicious light Loire red, bought a case of wines to take back to the UK and would happily return. Book ahead at the weekend.

At the end of such a small place as Belleme, this restaurant was a great find. A small menu to pick from, all the food was great to eat and looked great. The multiple interludes between courses were a treat and throughout the service was efficient and friendly even though she was alone on the floor. Well worth a visit, and I will return again.
