What a wonderful restaurant in a fantastic setting.Surprisingly, we ate here twice for lunch and only on one of those occasions we shared the restaurant with anyone else, a couple that had stayed overnight. On the first occasion we popped by, while on a cycle ride with the kids, and they said they were open for lunch, so we stayed for a couple of "unhurried" hours. (I assume the Chateau was open for lunch while the C Beach Club was out of action though.) Regardless, after the most amazing Wagyu burger we planned our return! Disappointingly, on our return there was only enough of the Wagyu beef to create one burger. This led me to another gem, the steak sandwich. We had two great lunches here and the kids enjoyed playing around the lovely gardens while we kept an eye on them from our table on the veranda.Dear seanbilluk,On behalf of my team and myself , we thank you a lot for your reviews and fine description of the venue and services. Looking forward to welcome you again at Heritage Le Chateau.Best Regards

Flamboyant

I was reminded visiting Flamboyant restaurant this morning of popping into the Tipsy Teapot in Selsey West Sussex some years back. My most memorable image are of pots, cup, bowls glasses at strange angles. Hidden behind this imagery were the hosts with such charm and charisma. Today in this five star restaurant I was peering at my breakfast tea cup with a crooked handle. Like in Selsey the waiters make this such a memorable experience with their care, courtesy, humour, and ever lasting professionalism to make you feel that extra SO special and SO embracing. Every morning we are greeted by Chef Poonam and Chef Aalyha in their typical Mauritian radiant welcoming style. Out come their Happy Eggs smiling as they cook ones breakfast. Behind that handle in the kitchen and waiters does lie that So Magical Surprise to savour and greet you into another sun kissed day on this delightful Island of Mauritius.

L'Alchimiste

Reviewed By ClareF745

Yesterday was my day out and was excited to be visiting the Rhumerie (which was excellent), but also to be eating at L’Alchimiste as it had good reviews. Sadly this was a huge disappointment. We ordered 3 main courses and 1 childrens meal. The childrens meal was the only one that was warm. My husband and eldest son ate theirs as they were so hungry, but I returned mine as it wasn’t just cold, it was as if it had come straight out of the fridge. The purees around the pork had a crust on top which indicated it was not freshly made. Sadly the replacement meal was a repeat of the first...this time the centre of the pork was tepid and the outer cold. I returned the 2nd meal as inedible. It was disappointing that the chef did not come out to apologise which would have been the right thing to do. Instead our lovely waiter was left to the embarrassment of having to return the meals. I couldn’t believe it when they then tried to charge us for a meal that they had given to me cold...twice. Thanks to the waiter who did remove it when I said I would not pay for a meal that wasn’t just cold...it was stone cold. So the day out I had looked forward to for 3 weeks was a big disappointment. I left hungry and sad that a restaurant thought it ok to serve cold food. I will not return.
