We went several times to Umami in den haag Which we enjoyed very much but our visit to umami in amsterdam was a complete horrorstory. The staff was rude, incompetent, food took hours to reach our table and with a party of six each course Should have been served simultaneously instead there was 30 min delay between one part of our table and the rest. The food was Below par. Avoid this restaurant. PleAse visit the one in den haag Which is really fantastic.

The menu has a proxy fixe option and ala cart. We ordered ala cart. Garden snails were perfect as well as a superb pigeon dish. Perfect. The other personâs had a turbot and and scallops. All dishes were very pleasing and tasteful. Good wine selections and very nice cocktails.The restaurant is small but the atmosphere is cozy and very warm. Staff was absolutely delightful.Little did we know our son-in-law contacted the restaurant to let them know of my wifeâs birthday. Nothing was said until the meal was over. We were leaving and Chef Kuipers met us at the door and thanked us for dining with him. He gave my wife a beautiful box with birthday greetings on the box and a nice apple cake inside. Quite a special touch.It is expensive but one should expect the prices with the quality and atmosphere.Dear rhpatt29,Thank you for your 5 star review on Tripadvisor. We came for dinner after the gay pride parade activities finished. I had the steak tartare and the Chateaubriand. Both were exceptional and good value for money. Good choices of sauces served with the steak. The gentleman that served us was friendly and attentive. Also the bathroom was so clean and beautiful with candles lit and a choice of hand creams... such a nice touch. Will definitely return.

We opted for the five course chef's surprise tasting menu. Because we had no idea what we would have, we decided on Champagne Rose which goes well with everything. The meal began with a beautiful carpaccio served over a bed of greens. The next course was a cream of white asparagus soup that was to die for. Such deep flavors and complexity! The fish course was a poached cod that was perfectly prepared. The main dish was a perfectly prepared steak- seared perfectly and rare and very tender. My husband told the waiter that veal sweetbreads were one of his favorites so the chef included a portion with his steak. Very generous. Dessert was homemade ice cream and a mocha/chocolate cake that was outstanding. I normally only appreciate very very chocolate desserts but this was a very nice surprise. All in all a memorable evening. I definitely would highly recommend in fact we are trying to get in again tonight.

We had a wonderful meal at Jaspers. Itâs a friendly place featuring continental haute cuisine and an extensive wine list. Definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in Amsterdam. We had great fish, asparagus soup and desert dishes. Service was very attentive. Each dish presented in our 4 course dinner was accompanied by a discussion of the ingredients.

We went here, as we were going to the Anne Frank house and it was on our way.I had the cheese and ham crepe and my husband had the omelette. We both had latte macchiato. Everything was very good and the service was excellentThank you!

Nice house (little like Martin Berasategui) on lake shore (although no view, at least inside â there is a terrace too). Beautiful interior design. 6 course chefâs menu and a la carte. Everything was good in the menu. Good service, smooth pace â not too quick but not too slow either. Iâve visited many Amsterdam Michelin starred, and so far this is a clear winner.
