Homemade Burger,the "Gaspard"
We were met by a very pleasant waitress. My husband had the Gaspard Classique which he enjoyed. I had the Gaspard Saumon. The description offered great promise, sesame, honey and maple syrup. Sadly, I couldn't taste any of these ingredients. The dish was edible but bland. I enjoyed the chips. The dreadful photos of burgers in tiny frames on the wall cheapen the restaurant. Lastly, as a non smoker I don't want to see the chef or waitress going outside for a cigarette during service or a large dog laying at the back of the restaurant.

And a new proprietor. We revisited this restaurant after being turned away from a nearby restaurant, in fact they urged us to go. Well with little choice we did and weren't disappointed. The new owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, in fact the service was even better than before. The menu was just as good and even for the children. Can't fault it.

plussesabsolutely charming setting, good choice of excellently cooked meals and delicious wine at a good price.minuseswe booked the table for 7.30 and got our main course at 10.30. It doesn't matter how great the food is- if your appetite's gone over it spoils your enjoyment of the meal. A real shame but if you don't mind the wait go and see for yourself, it's otherwise a lovely experience.

Midi minuit nouveau concept sur Angoulême. Autour de grandes tables, venez partager un très agréable moment. Vins sélectionnés et table gourmande.
In the midst of the Circuit des Remparts crowds and overflowing cafes this place is an oasis of tranquility. We were two groups of about 10 in total & all were very complimentary about Midi-Minuit. A young and really helpful team took us through their menu made up of local dishes, based on what was in season and what was available. The food was delicious and accompanied by an excellent wine selection.

Never been here before but after all the good reviews thought we'd try it. Not disappointed at all. Limited menu of only about 3 starters and 3 mains but cater for most tastes including vegetarian. The mozzarella charcuterie starter was really good and our veal mains was excellent. Good desserts too and a very good choice of wines. Service was excellent and all the waiting staff were more than happy to rescue me from getting bogged down in my bad french. Would recommend you book on a fri/sat night as not a big restaurant. Very enjoyable evening.

Being around in Angouleme for a while, I have heard about Le Comptoir de Brice but never pushed the door. Finally, I have done it following a friend proposal. Nicely designed, pretty full, we had a table for 2 upstairs. We have enjoyed starter, main course and dessert. I have move from fish, inspired by Japanese cooking to have a fish as a main dish. Looks like lot of research in the dishes elaboration a bit transformed by a service "standard" and a noisy atmosphere. I am sure that I would have appreciated the moment with a complete different view in a different environment. Pity.

â¬15.90 for a 3-course lunch, which is good value. The restaurant was able to switch the main dish (meat) to a beautiful salad for me as I donât eat meat - thank you!

My wife and I were so impressed with the set mid week lunch the last time that we went back at the end of August. It was still great! The set meal started with smoked salmon on whipped cream cheese set on a Bellini. Main course was a skewer of pork with wonderful vegetables. For dessert there is a choice. My wife ha a wonderful chocolate concoction and I had creme brûlée. We washed everything down with a jolly good Pinot noir from the Deep South. The bill was just over 60 euros with a tip and including an aperitif each. Does not get much. Better than that!Would I go again? Definitely - highly recommended for the set lunch. The owner speaks very good English, the decor is modern and the staff charming. What more could you ask for?

This restaurant is attached to a boulangerie. We had seen it many times but had not visited, so we booked a table on their facebook site, but do not think it was seen as we didn't have a reservation! The weekly menu is always listed on there, so we were looking forward to Coq au vin when we visited on Monday January 16. Unfortunately they had sold out and we were offered a chicken burger instead, we ordered this with some trepidation knowing from past experience that they are often inedible. We need not have worried however as it was not the usual minced up tasteless thing, but a chicken breast in a bun. We were not asked if we wanted ketchup but it was already in the bun, and as I don't like ketchup, I was trying to scrape it off when the manager (?) appeared, apologised and replaced my burger. There is no choice of menu, just a plat du jour and dessert is chosen from the patisserie on display in the shop.
