Find out what French restaurants to try in Aarhus. Jutland's cultural heart, Århus is an exuberant university town with a perfectly preserved old town and a recreated historic village, Den Gamle By. The top draw is the Moesgard Museum of Prehistory, showcasing exhibits from the Stone Age to Viking days and home to the city's most famous citizen, the 2000-year-old Grauballe Man. It's a lively spot, teeming with cafes, restaurants, clubs and cinemas. Denmark's second-largest city perches on Jutland's eastern coast amid beaches and woodland.

We tried variations of the chef's tasting menu during a recent meal at this restaurant in central Aarhus. There were several amuse bouche starters that were interesting but the flavors did not always meld well. The actual appetizers were more interesting but suffered from a similar challenge--a number of unusual ingredients with the combined effect often less than the sum of the pieces. The service was outstanding--very friendly and enthusiastic. We tried the accompanying wine options but found that many of these were low end wines that were relatively insipid with the exception of a robust red served with the main veal course. A spatlese Riesling served with dessert was poor combination. All in all, a mixed experience with some interesting flavors, unique fresh ingredients, and great service but relatively mediocre wines and fusion failure.

The place is very nice inside, food and variety of the menu so and so, very little flexibility as i asked if it was possible to have the fish with sauce on the side or without and they told me no... sono inhad to tale meat, and i think this is ridicoulos...Anyways the quality of the meat was good, but they did not asked me rare medium well done, so i got a well done that actually i dont really like...I would say that many things can be improved also because it is npt a cheap place.Hey Paola M.Im sorry for what you have experienced in the bistro, thats not how we do it - normally anything is possible.Im very sorry to read this.Hope you will give us another chance, and come back.

An intimate, long-standing, family owned restaurant on a city center street, offering satisfying, good value, French Brasserie classics and polite, friendly service.
We came here with a young baby for dinner and they made room for us with a pram. The young lady who served us gave us information on the food and recommended some drinks. The food was delicious, well cooked and fresh. I had the veal which was cooked perfectly and my fiance had the beef and the two desserts, creme brulle (I know that is spelt wrong) and chocolate cake, they were rich and more than we needed but we felt full.

We came for lunch and was seated at the windows to the street. Service was good and efficient. As most other guests in the restaurant all of us ordered the 3 course lunch decided the cook. The 3 dishes were served at the same time on a wooden plate. All three were excellent: good taste and very good looking. It was value for money although it was too much for an every day lunch.

This is a very nice restaurant. Small and cosy. Quite interesting decor with servers that are very helpful and speak excellent English (as quite the norm in Denmark). The menu was rather small, but with very good choices. Ingredients are of good quality and the result is really good. Including their bred! The wine list is also not huge but offers rather good options. We selected French and Italian wine and they were really excellent. Highly recommended.Dear HUJ765Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Mefisto. Your words are much appreciated and they describe very well what we do and what we hope that our guest experienche - so thank you.

Went their for business dinner with a larger group of colleagues. We have a four course dinner and food quality and way of preparation was excellent. French cuisines with a touch of Danish and Asian influence. Very friendly and attentive service. Portions are very small but expected in this way.

We were on the hunt for a steak on this particular evening. And we certainly found one. The perfectly prepared steak béarnaise came with rich sauce and perfectly crispy frites. This is a French restaurant, and they executed this French classic perfectly. Wine recommendation to go with it was also excellent. Not one of those super creative new cuisine restaurants, but flawless at the classics on its menu. One of the best in Aarhus, in my opinion.

It is a French Resaurant at Nybanegårdsgade 42-46. inside Aarhus street food market. Where we propose our specialities to ours customers, french Crepes and Galettes.
Based on the many good recommend actions I decided to check the french corner. It is unfortunately not close to being the great pancake restaurant I expected based on the ratings. It is not bad but actually only gets 3 stars because of the very reasonable prices.
