This place opened in 1946 and outside of keeping it clean, I don't think anything has changed since 1946. The size, the taste, the stools, and the counters are appear to be vintage. If they are not, the restorer was talented.I also don't think pricing followed inflation because it is affordable! $10 get you 2 burgers, fries and cheese and drink. The people who work here are amazing. I have no idea how the grillmasterlady keeps track of who orders what but she does!A fun and inexpensive meal.

Dependably good for many years. Consistently well cooked fries. Newcomers will think the dogs are the best, and I agree: however, the price goes up, and the dog is SHRINKING. Pretty soon it will be a cocktail frank. Going here for over 45 years, I know the difference. I betcha it has shrunk 20%. It is still a great dog, just less of it. I rather pay more and get that old fashioned big hot dog. Free on site parking. Don't expect deluxe seating. You are back in the 60's.
We have now been to the Humble Toast twice in as many weeks and we be back many more times. The restaurant opened in October and I am happy to report that it was crowded last night. The menu is an eclectic version of standard sandwiches and things, for example I had the Lone Ranger, which is a burger, with crispy fried shoestring onions, beef bakon, and the house special sauce. One of the best burgers I have ever had. My daughter had the salami and egg sandwich which was big enough to provide her with lunch today. My wife had the Shelley, which was also wonderful and plentiful. Last time we had the Beef Barbacoa and the Mexican Street corn both of which were outstanding (although the corn was messy ;)). This time we tried the regular fries which were excellent and the Garlic Truffle Fries which were a little too garlicy for me, but everyone else loved them. For dessert you have to try the Chocolate Salami. I will not say anything more than you MUST try it. The bread pudding is still a work in progress and not yet good enough to recommend. Service was excellent and the place is new, bright and clean.
