We grabbed some food after we came back from a day out via the train. The staff were well presented and polite, the food is of an excellent quality and that's reflected in the highest score from the food standard inspection. The prices are also very reasonable, cheaper than most in the town. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.
We started ordering from Lucky Star about a year ago when they appeared on Just Eat. Never had a problem, good has always been nice. They seem to have an issue with lateness of late, last time we ordered we waited in excess of 2 hours for it to arrive, I had to chase them a few times they then apologised and said that the driver had had an accident and it was being redone. Driver having a crash, not their fault right? So we ordered again tonight, ordered at 17:30 and itâs still not here itâs now 19:00. Not impressed! I donât think we will be ordering from them again!

Quite simply, tell them what you want & how you would like it, & they will do it for you,And very nice they are too.If you have ever been to Rome & had Pizza, you will know they make them thinner than a ten pence piece. Not my thing, but if you like it that way, then ask.

Generally find Fillets to be good fish and chips. We always have take away as siting and eating in the restaurant can be very hit and miss if the counter is busy. Find the chips need longer cooking so always ask for them to fried for a little longer. Me thinks they need to sort the electricity out. Every time I call in all the lights go out 2 or 3 times

One of the dishes we ordered was Beef and Tomato. When we got it home we had orange floating things on the top which resembled cheddar cheese. We phoned and the nice lady told us it was egg......whatever it was was not nice. The Yong Chow rice was egg fried with a bit of canned, cubed ham and some char Su. Not encouraging. However the S/S Chicken Balls were well cooked, plentiful and served with a Sour, not Sweet sauce. We liked the fact that there was no MSG to make it thicken. We did not enjoy the meal but it will be to the taste of lots......

We really enjoyed our first (not last) visit to this excellent Chinese Takeaway. First impressions are very good; clean and other people waiting. We had excellent Duck and Pancakes, veg Spring Rolls, Plain and Special Chow Mein, Beef and Oyster Sauce, Egg Fried Rice and the inevitable (and very crispy) SS Chicken. It was far too much (shock!) for 4 of us but great value @£35 with free Prawn Crackers.Based on this meal, we can or recommend high enough. Yummy....

We had a large fish and chips and a small one. The large fish was outstanding, the small, boxed one was not good at all. We would like our chips cooked longer to produce a brown, not bland, colour but will be back.

Great place to eat. You are always welcomed with a bright smile and pleasant conversation. You have a choice of eating in, or takeaway. Personally, I like to enjoy the company of the stff, so usually eat in. All the staff are happy in their job, and it shows in their dedication to the owners and to the public.Leandra and Leo are a lovely Portuguese couple who understand the traditional British chippy. The food is cooked well, the portions are very generous and the prices are reasonable. It's hard to 'big up ' a chip shop, but this couple go the extra mile. There is a wide range of fare available, most of which I have tried. They have introduced gluten free products recently, which is a great help to people on that type of diet.Talking of diet..if you don't like visiting chip shops because of the huge amount of fat that you will encounter, Leandra has introduced salad if you wish, instead of chips. There is a large selection of salad items, and she loves making them for people. However, the down side to this cafe, is that you can't always eat it all. Believe me, if you order large fish and chips, even the big eaters around here quite often leave with a doggy bag. I, personally, an not a fan of salad, as l always think that it won't fill me up, but at Scoffers, it has become a regular thing for me.
