Telephone ordered with trepidation as we never seem to get the correct or full order. This time was no exception. Ordered two fried rice and one boiled. Yes you guessed it there were 3 boiled and no fried. The rest of the order was correct and hot. The timing of ten minutes for us to collect was way off. My so waited 15 minutes before setting off and they still had not completed the meal order. If it wasnât for the fact that we all love their lemon chicken I think we would be looking for a new local Chinese take away.

Had my first meal here 20 years ago when I was viewing my current house. Food is still good esp Beef Curry and Fried Rice. Don't go when it is empty as the chips can be cold and greasy, but when busy they are spot on. they don't always judge the batch size right. But a good reasonably priced takeaway. STILL UNDER THE SAME OWNERSHIP AND VERY FRIENDLY.

Well I have to say I was very disappointed with my meal... I had beans o looking forward to some salt and pepper chips after being away... they were dry tasteless no spice at all... the curry was watery and the rice was mediocre... won't be ordering again!!

Went there the last 2 weeks as our regular (Langgy) is closed while they're on holiday. Oh my, both times I've had bad reactions from the amount of MSG and salt they put in the meals. Found it difficult to breath through inflamed sinuses and sleep, and the next day I feel more dehydrated then Gandhi's flip flop. I'm thinking would you serve food like that to your family? If no, then don't serve it to your customers either. I just absolutely will not put that into my body again. Chips were very good 1st week, 2nd week you could tell they had been re-fried & were a bit dry and leathery. Apart from the MSG & salt overdose the rest of the quality of the meals were fairly decent. Changes need to be made.

I really rate this restaurant although I probably use a little to often, as the staff guess who I am just by my order. Food is always really good and consistent. Delivered hot and on the odd occasion something is wrong or missing, put right straight away. Occasionally you do have a wait on delivery times. (but this is to be expected if your ordering at peak times over a weekend)What more could you ask for! I highly recommend this Takeaway...

Having visited other fast food establishments in the area and found them disappointing. I approached the Golden RIver with trepidation. I need not have worried. The fish and chips are superb and their Chinese dishes equally so. All food seems freshly prepared and not just reheated. A great find and I will definitely be back. Well done to all who work there.

FISH &CHIPS TAKE AWAY AND RESTAURANT Has a lovely restaurant to sit in Five star food and hygiene for 10 years Everything freshly cooked English tradicional menu
Looking for something to eat before a show at the Brindley we gave this another go (as it was closed for refurbishment the first time we tried) and found it open and not too busy.It is a traditional fish and chip shop but with additional seating for those that wish to enjoy their treat sat down rather than strolling the streets of the old town.Prices are a little higher than some chippies in the area but then the quality is so much better. I went for the haddock and my wife for the Plaice and we sat back and waited for it to be freshly cooked.Including a can of soft drink each the bill came to £15 which is a match for the local Weatherspoon's Friday night offer but the Neptune was far better quality and value. Cooked fresh to perfection and plenty of quantity for even the heartiest appetite. Decor was fresh and clean and the service commendable. Seat were a bit hard after about an hour but then it was time for us to move on. Would not hesitate to utilise again if in the area.

Been coming this place for over 25 years. Remember running from the Joes at dinnertime to beat the Fairfield lot getting all the batter bits! Great food and good banter with all the staff. Well worth a visit. Keep up the good work!!!!!
