Decent chicken on the street. Good but nothing to rave about really. When we visited for lunch, the guys working the stall were swamped. It was impossible to tell where to order, where to pick up; not a single sign. When we finally managed to get close enough to ask one of the guys âwhere is the end of the queueâ, he just threw his hands up in the air meaning he is clueless. We finally wrestled to the other end of the stall to order our food and managed to pick it up. We even found a spot at one of the picnic tables next to the stall. The spicy chicken was good but the drumsticks and wings were just ok. From the side of the stall I asked for some napkins and did not get a response. Then I was scolded for asking for napkins at such a busy time. One of the food price labels read âTripadvisor famous chickenâ.... Well, we certainly thought the fame was just hype. Overall, we had a very negative experience.

We reached our accommodation in de Pijp quite late. In the search for food (and a cold beer), we found Burger Bar. The staff were super friendly and given that it was quite late at night, we were thankful they were open. Ordering was easy and the range on offer was impressive. The food arrived quickly and there was plenty of it. Everything tasted superb and the beer was also nice and cold. Overall, this was a fantastic eating experience and I would highly recommend it.

Eat your fish or sandwich directly on the market. Simple and delicious small meals. Open during market hours
Got tipped on Dutch herring, so came here to this food market/street stand. The herring is delicious, not overly salty. For 2.50 euros you get 2 large fillets with pickles & onions. Also tried the lox (aka zalm). Tasty without being too salty. There are several picnic tables to sit at. There are many other fish options, something for everyone.
