Stopped in after a very long day at the dog show. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Tried the new Hawaiian King Bread sandwich, wow! The restaurant was very clean, food very well prepared, and the staff made the meal memorable.

I practically grew up on Steak n Shake so was looking forward to this new place in Middletown. For a new restaurant the company needs to fire their "manager" and replace all their staff, otherwise I will never eat here again. We went for lunch on saturday, around 12:30 and the dining room was about 1/2 full. The hostess was not at her station but did come by within a few minutes although we started searching for the manager because if felt as if the employees had abandoned the place. Once seated, we sat there for a good 10 minutes without anyone stopping by to take our order. We were very close to walking out! The server for the table next to ours started to clean another table but didn't finish. Eventually he stopped by to take our order but mumbled words (we think they were words) but he had no personality, no smile, and shuffled off like a sloth. When our food arrived he forgot to bring my wife's drink. Looking around the dining room there were literally no employees anywhere to be seen so she got up to ask for her drink. The manager told her he would comp the drink and argued when she said she was still eating and really wanted the drink to go with her food. While eating we watch 2 other tables get seated, families with children, and after a few minutes both families walked out because there was no service. Observing the staff it's apparent there's no excitement, no one knows how to hustle, and they're very inefficient. So when we paid for the meal, the manager was at the register. He never smiled and never asked how we enjoyed the meal (that should be a red flag right there because that's usually how they act when they receive a lot of complaints!). He was clearly not setting a good example for his staff. In fact his inability to motivate his staff could be killing the business.

Recently stopped by with the Mrs to use a coupon an d try the new "Long Cheesbueger". Very tasty with fried onion rings on top! At just under $5 for the "meal", it was a good buy.Mrs had the limited time "10 nuggets for $1.50", so good and a great deal,went back for 2nds to share with hubby!! Sweet/sour sauce a good compliment.
