I felt like fish and chips, rather than asking the locals I looked at trip advisor for recommendations. The chips and banana fritter were really nice, crispy and clean, I would go back again for these but that's were it would stop. The hotdog was warm not hot and the fish I was unable to eat, it tasted like the fish had been soaked in chemicals. The place looks dark and despite other reviews saying it was busy, it was empty. The staff (Indians) were talking non stop in there Language so it wasn't a nice atmosphere.

Went there while our normal F&C shop was being redecorated. K&J's (kept the original owner's initials from years ago) were once an award winning place. Now the posters and newspaper clippings on the walls showing giant fish caught locally, have rust marked staples, and faded colour prints. Those observations were an indication that I was waiting for ages and had time to examine the decor.Had to stand up the whole time, nothing to read, and it seemed like an eternity. The F&C were very very average, and they did not do crumbed fish, although they would happily crumb a Mar's Bar! Pretty oily taste showed they were not drained properly. This place shouldn't be compared with Warkworth's other restaurants and Cafe's. It shouldn't even BE in this section. Pretty greasy, grimy, depressing place. Sadly I won't be returning.
