We ordered a takeaway, the first in 12 months. The service was good but unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the food. Most of the chips were hard, the noodles were very rubbery and popodoms were soft. So sad that the quality that used to be guaranteed has dropped, I will need to see a few positive reviews before trying the Mayfar again..Sorry

We've had several meals of cod and chips here and have never been disappointed with the excellent food quality, most memorable of any cod I've ever eaten and I'm very fussy when eating fish. The portion sizes are huge and will suit the big eaters out there. I've introduced several friends to Big Sam's and have all passed on positive comments. Can't wait for the next one.

Had the Vegetarian set meal for two. Gone down to £15 from £16.40 but not worth the money. Most of the food is now bulked out with rice, crackers and pancake rolls, all cheap produce. Seaweed dish far too sweet and salty. Small portions never enough for two people with only one main beancurd dish. Average at best. Hygiene rating gone up to 4.

Decent food, quite a good selection & very cheap. Staff are nice & friendly, we've visited a lot of race tracks and this is definitely the best cafe, they have deals on and a nice pick of cakes and chocolate as well as breakfast/brunch and English food.Closes at 3:30pm
