Good fish and chips, but under new management and we were the first customers. Think sausages etc were also available along with cold drinks
A great find having been recommended by my B&B hosts. Friendly owners clean looking premises & really great fish & chips. Take away mainly. Fresh & tasty, big portions & a great find! Reasonable prices.Owners seem really accommodating as one lady asked for her fish to be grilled which they obliged her.

We brought our son and grandson here for a fish supper after a long hot day out. We were surprised that it was open on Sunday. This was news to us but I am aware that it appears to have changed owners as I didn't recognise most of the staff. It seemed busy and we were informed that it would be 10 mins before we would be served. We actually got our food over 30 mins from sitting down, then one of the orders was wrong, we then had a five minute wait for our sides to arrive and another 5 mins before the drinks, again one wrong, arrived. By this time the queue was out of the door and down the street. The quality of the food was comparable to previous visits but the service wasn't. It appeared, I may be wrong, that there were only three working behind the counter plus one serving tables. My point really is that it would appear that you open on a Sunday because it is profitable, so make sure you have enough staff to serve your customers. So be prepared for a very long wait for your food if you go at a busy timeHello Jim,I understand you visit us regularly from your many reviews. The Sunday you refer to was August bank holiday weekend and yes we was VERY busy which you rightly state in your review, you was informed of a wait which you obviously accepted so why then feel the need to complain out it? The shop hasnât changed hands simply some partners have left, the staff have largely unchanged for over 10 years, but thanks for noticing! I suppose I must apologise for your extended wait and shall take on board the need for a small army of staff next bank holiday. On the upside Iâm glad you enjoyed your food.
We arrived at 9pm, having simply followed signs and deciding at the last minute to have some fish and chips. Noticing that the shop closed at 9pm we asked if there was any chance of food.We were immediately made to feel valued and welcome, asking for fish and chips twice we were told they would be made fresh for us and it would be a few minutes wait. We opted to eat in, choosing to sit on the outside seats, comfortable, clean and plenty of room. Expecting to get our fish and chips wrapped so they could get in with closing, our shock as two trays were delivered to our table with two large oval plates and cutlery! The portions were very generous, I didn't manage all mine, and the fish was amazing... Batter light and crispy, the fish inside big white tasty flakes which fell apart o to your fork and made you give that little moan of pleasure as you devour it.For saying this was closing time, everything far surpassed any reasonable expectations, the owner chatted with us, he has some visions for the future which sound amazing, we never felt rushed and enjoyed one of the best fish and chip suppers we have ever had.Mr chips has certainly secured us as customers whenever we come to see our son who lives in Fakenham, and probably our son too once he gets a chance to visit himself.Highly recommend, and also if you're local we recommend chatting with the owner as he looks to the future about what you would like to see with the menu options, he is approachable and open to listening and with the standard demonstrated very worth cultivating...
