The food was tasty but I wouldn't return due to the low standards of cleanliness (carpets and chairs are pitted with ingrained dirt and the toilets are badly maintained)...and the sullen, miserable, clueless barman. Had to return real ale as it was obviously off - like vinegar. I'm told this place used to be excellent. It certainly is not now. The rest of the staff looked as miserable as sin...

Fancied something nice for lunch so ordered online with Just Eat. Went and collected, it was 20 minutes later than the allocated time they gave me. So whilst waiting Iâm flicking through the menu and realise the food is cheaper than I paid online. Spoke to the guy behind the counter who basically didnât care and kept saying I need to contact just eat cos itâs a different system. I said well if you want return custom just refund me the £4 you owe me and was told flat out no. Left furious. Food was ok... nothing special and over priced for what it was. Contacted Just Eat and they contacted Lebaneat directly who again refused to refund so ended up accepting a voucher from just eat. This company doesnât care about their customers and my observations whilst waiting ages for my order is that the atmosphere between the counter staff and the chefs is strained to say the least. I wonât be returning. Over priced food, greedy owners and mean staff. Wonât be returning.Dear Ali, I can understand the nature of your frustration and I want to thank you for expressing it to Lebaneat. We are obliged to follow the guidelines according to JUST-EAT policy. The member of staff did explain to you that it is a separate system and has taken a payment and I believe you received a payment for 4.00 from JUST-EAT. We are very sorry about all the confusion that has occurred. We care about our customers view and as a company we try our best to address all issue directly. Our member of staff didn't have the authority to refund 4.00 to you over the counter. We would like to wish you all the best, lebaneat.

This is by far the best fish and chip shop in County Durham. I've never been disappointed. Chips are lovely and the fish nicely cooked. Falls apart on contact with your fork. Excellent value for money. Worth going out of your way to visit.

Take away Very good nicely cooked no dripping fat Sausage and chips very light inside and a bit of a crunch on the out perfect colour very satisfied we went there sausage as nicely cooked as the chips next time we venture north we will return and take a seat in the restaurant
