Been in a couple of times for sandwiches and the fried sandwiches are very greasy. But they do a great cheese and onion plate pie. The owners need to smile sometimes.

Visited Friars and although local I haven't been for some time. Ordered chicken curry and a large portion of chips; Cost £8. The chips were like scrag ends and not many of them, to say it was a large portion is misleading. The chicken curry consisted of a small portion of chicken and lots of brown tangy tasting gravy laughingly called curry. I normally use the takeaway next door, which I now realise is a lot cheaper for the same product. But there wasn't many in the Friary and it was B/Rovers half time so I took the risk. Never again! Gave them one point because I didn't miss much of the second half.

Today was my first time of visiting - I ordered the set menu for two and was really impressed. A huge amount of food and it was all quality- amongst the best onion bhajis I've ever had (I know, quite a claim). Plus the service in the takeaway was really friendly which always makes a difference. Bengal Masala blows Taste of India out of the water in my opinion!

A great place to buy your food. Fish is always first class and the staff friendly. Plenty of room. I usually eat in.

I have used this chippy on several occasions and always been happy but today I fancied fish and chips for tea so nipped over and ordered very quick service and polite as usual when I got home couldnât believe that every single chip had black head on them and had a green tinge quite clearly the potatoes used had seen better days I didnât eat them I just put them In the bin . They need to up their game and have some sort of quality control as sending food out like that soon gives a place a bad reputation very quickly if it done on a regular basis . Very disappointed this time sorry yes I will try it again but if the same happens again I would not be recommending this place again
