Stopped that the Sandwich Baron in Boksburg for a quick lunch. Preordered a Banting Chicken Quarter with eggs and avacado and Healthy lunch bag( Toasted chicken sandwich, banana and water). (R99.00).Sat outside and enjoyed the meal. Nice seating area outside. Safe secure free shopping centre parking.

Found this Spur by chance and was impressed by the friendly reception at the front door and then on entering the restaurant the cleanliness caught my eye immediately and the calm and confidence of all the staff was great. Ok. I am a patient foodie. Really - getting my drink order wrong by bringing my chlorinated tap water!!!!!Then they cannot make a Long Island iced tea. Food was cold! Spinach completely ice cold - sweet lumpy butternut. Changed to onion rings - bad move if you are allergic to fish - you can taste the fish on the onion rings - and who on earth ruins a steak with a sweet basting sauce?Not at all enjoyable!Dear F1blondie,Thank you for taking the time to review our Spur Restaurant. Good efficient service.I placed an order for menu # F6 which comprised of Large Grilled Hake with Calamari tubes and a green salad for R99,90 excl vat. Prices of the food are good, not much of a variety but options available are good. They offer live music regularly even in the week, nice as a mid week breakaway or even a social with friends on the weekend.

This is a Muslim spur. All the food is halal here. They of course do not sell pork either. I must say that Fireplace Roadhouse is the best roadhouse I've been to, and I've been to many. Plus the food is at a very reasonable price, much lower the chain restaurants and you get much bigger portions here. I prefer this a million times to other common fast food outlets. I will be going this Friday again to get their Cheese burger combo, which is my favourite.

Invited by a friend to meet for lunch. Excellent decision to do something out of the ordinary. Mall's and Coffee shops do get tedious. What a surprise. Roadhouses are getting few and far between. In all of Johannesburg, the East still have a few left. This one is great. Excellent and clean, efficient and very friendly staff. Brilliant Milkshakes and the Kota Burgers are very good. Gladly give it a try when you are out on the East Rand.
