This is most probably the nicest restaurant in Krommenie. They offer great food at a fair price, good wines and a very nice atmosphere. Lunch, dinner, drinks, all is possible. Just the two, with your family, colleagues or friends, you will feel welcome and have a good time at Grand Cafe Atlantic!

We had dinner here Sunday night. Menu didn't change much from last year but lots of attractive options. Traditional appetisers are available and a good choice of meat and fish dishes. They serve the main course with various veggies, a salad and fried potatoes and au gratin. Especially the cooked apples are to die for. Service is warm and attentive and at the end of the evening the owner came around for a chat at the table. All in a restaurant that's as cosy as a Dutch living room. Very happy and we'll be back for sure.
A small and friendly restaurant with local artisanal beers and a menu full of fresh ingredients and homemade classics. We have a tasteful wine menu and for the summer a lovely terrace.
We stayed in Zaanse Schanz and found this nice restaurant, a little more far from the windmills than others, but definitely worth it. Great food, special mention to the veggie burger. Organic wine available. Very friendly service. It's a must try if you stay around!

The building where our restaurant is at, used to be a butcher in the 18th century. The previous name of the restaurant was 'Smuiger' because of 2 beautiful tiled fireplaces that in the local tongue are called 'Smuigers'. Nowadays the name reflects the his
We went to Slagers for lunch on the way and dinner on the way back to the train from Zaanse Schans. The hot ginger tea is lovely and we both enjoyed the vegetarian open sandwich on their dark brown bread. At dinner Myles had the steak and chips, which was cooked to perfection, and I had the ravioli, lovely fresh pasta.

Came here with big group for lunch. Place is big and can house a lot of people. Food was excellent, I loved the cod fish, but service is slow. The restaurant is located in a famous attraction in Zaandam. Although service is slow, but to me, it was worth the wait.

When we went here, it was very busy because it was a Saturday, but they made place for us even though we hadn't make a reservation.Bad parts:The salad sauce was a little sour and the view was a little bad (on a parking lot and some industrial things), but it's about the food. The spoon for my tea was to small. Not enough herb cream with the bread.Goodparts:The peanut sauce for the satay was really good and the satay itself was good to. There was a lot of prawn crackers. With the bread as a starter was a cute pan with in de middle a bowl with herb crime. I guess The cook made the cream him(or her)self. There was a lot of bread. The mayonnaise was good with the fries, not to sour and not to much fat. Just a good taste. The decoration was really funny and cool, the clock with cutlery, the huge cutlery on the sealing and the old farm things like cow statue, wooden and fabrics hearts, weights and a few twigs. The staff was very friendly and open and helped us good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our ice cream cones here. A single scoop cone was just 1.25! lots of flavors to choose from. There is room to sit inside, or there are picnic tables outside, across the street by the river.

Hoop Brewery is located in historic Zaandijk, near Zaanse Schans. This is one of the most beautiful and historic areas of the Netherlands close to Amsterdam. Zaandijk Zaanse Schans train station is only a 15-minute walk (train connection between Amsterdam
Husband and I stayed 5 nights in Zaandijk Zaanse Schanz just about a 10 minute walk from this place (early December). We ended up having dinner here twice in the 5 nights because we liked it so much. Hubby is a craft beer enthusiast and home-brewer. I love good food. It was a perfect match at Hoop! The service was always VERY good, although the place was never more than 4-5 tables full. Overall a very chill, peaceful vibe. Certainly family friendly and not for a party scene (thank you, Jesus!). We had the salad of the month both times because it was SO delicious. Had the fish and chips, and the cheese burger with fries. Both really outstanding. The best was the mustard soup, which sounds pretty awful since I don't care for mustard (hubby loves it), but I'm glad I tried it because it, too, was outstanding. I even emailed the brewery after returning from to the States to get the recipe and they kindly obliged. Truly wish this place existed here near us because I think we'd be going once a week! Thank you, Brouwerij Hoop, for two excellent visits!

- WINNER OF 'BEST LOCAL RESTAURANT 2019' - A brand new organic (veggie) restaurant, focused on sustainability and exclusivity. We work with organic and quality products that can be found in fine dining restaurants, but with a funky atmosphere and setting.
Funky little place... Small inside but great friendly service. I was alone and the staff made me feel very welcome indeed. Even chatted about what I had been up to during my visit to Zaandam.I ordered hot chocolate and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was fab. Really enjoyed this little place.. funky music.. a lot of cocktails on the menu along with beers and wines.I ate early (around 5pm) so did not soak up the evening atmosphere but I would imagine that ambience is very cool in the evenings.Great little place... recommend a visit for some decent food at a decent price!!Hi Suitcasesally22, Thank you very much for your review :DReviews like this, always makes us blush! We hope to see you again.
