Fantastic food and great service. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the decor. With stools hanging from the ceiling, and a unicycle across the wooden beams, it's an intriguing place, with plenty to draw your attention. The service was friendly, and we'll organised, even though we were a table of 13. All food and refreshments were very reasonably priced, with 3 courses for £15 on the menu. I had the surely soup to start which was beautiful, and tried some of my wife's Hunter's stew, which was delicious. The goulash pork main with dumplings was good, but I was slightly envious of my wifes pork shoulder, which looked amazing!Crepes for desert were lovely too!If I hadn't been driving, I'd have enjoyed some of the many Polish vodkas on offer!Na zdrowie!

We were a group of ten friends whom I had invited to celebrate our Golden Wedding. My wife and I had been before with my daughter's family and really enjoyed it.This occasion was also excellent. We had a table to ourselves so it felt quite special. Drink orders were taken quickly and whilst the wine was served quickly the beers weren't. Apparently the keg needed changing but I did think we could have been informed earlier as there was quite a delay. I had to chase up the non delivery which wasn't good. We had several bottles of an excellent merlot plus some excellent real ale.The food on the other hand was excellent. The chef's table was groaning with food and had something for every taste. I particularly enjoyed the seafood. Most of us felt full even before ordering our main courses. A wide variety of main courses were chosen from the belly pork, roast dinner to the burger. All were prenounced delicious and were all reasonable sized portions.Desserts were also excellent and a reasonable choice. Coffee followed and again there was a good choice. The service apart from the beers was very well paced and served in a friendly professional manner. We will certainly return as the lunch felt special and was in my view excellent value for the quality of the food and service provided.Dear NIRS3,Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review for us.Firstly you have my apologies for the delay in the beers being served to your table this should not have happened and thank you for your patience. I'm glad you enjoyed all our food offerings and felt you had great value with the meal, I will pass on to our team how much you enjoyed their professional service also.We hope to see you again very soon.Kind regardsJohnathan StoreyBar & Brasserie Manager

Everything was perfect. Attentive staff who seated us immediately at a lovely table. Great ambience- loved it that no loud music just a background of pleasant music so easy to talk. Danielle their sommelier was knowledgable and picked us perfect wines after asking us our likes and dislikes . And the food was fabulous. Beautifully presented and delicious. Couldnât fault it. Great choice of cocktails - raspberry jam cosmopolitan!! And good value. A great experience and we went on the Sunday for lunch which was equally good as we enjoyed it so much. Many thanks for your review of Dobson and Parnell; we are delighted you had an enjoyable meal experience with us. Your feedback will be shared amongst the team for full recognition. We hope to see you at Dobson and Parnell again in the near future. Kindest regardsCharlotte

Had a lovely lunch for two. Mrs has vine leaves followed by meat balls from set menu. I had Saslik and no starter. The Saslik was really tasty. Very tender good quality meat perfectly cooked. All the food was lovely. Washed down with Efes beer. Service was friendly but unobtrusive. Nice decor and reasonable prices. I suspect we will return soon for dinner.

Established in 1239 as a Dominican friary, Blackfriars is believed to be the oldest purpose-built restaurant in the UK, having served as the refectory for the Dominican friars more than 800 years ago. Today it serves gutsy, traditional British food using
We luckily managed to get in at Blackfriars with a last minute booking and I am so glad we did! One of the best meals we have had at a restaurant in a very long time, delicious and presented beautifully. The places itself is beautiful, it's exactly the sort of decor we love, very homely (cosy)! We chose a red wine from the list but was recommended another bottle by the staff which we went with (cheaper) and it was absolutely delicious, it went down a treat! Thanks again to all the staff for being so friendly and the kitchen staff for making our night with some of the best food weve had xThank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent visit to BlackfriarsWe are glad you had an enjoyable evening for your anniversary celebrations and we hope to see you again in the near future. Came here for dinner with my other half and parents, such a brilliant night. The service is outstanding, right from being welcomed and having a drink in the bar, to being served through the night at your table. The whole visit is an experience, we did the whole tasting with wine, and got cheese, and it was outstanding. It manages to be special without being too posh, the atmosphere is fab, and we cannot wait to go back. Special shout out to the veal sweetbeards....WOW.

Welcome to Topolino ! A restaurant ran by Chefs of highest standards. We offer an Authentic Italian Cuisine, finest Wines and 5â â â â â Service!
Visited for dinner with our teenage son. Arrived around 9pm. Very friendly welcome, traditional Italian restaurant environment and noticed Italian families - always a good sign! Ordered garlic bread and pane and olives to start - lovely and loads of it! We then had two pasta dishes and a calzone. Amazing quality and the calzone was huge! All washed down with wine, beer and water.I canât recommended Topolino enough. Fantastic service, amazing quality and portions, and great value! If you fancy something which is a touch more traditional than the modern chains, then look no further!

The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant & wine Bar in a community of unique and quirky businesses in Newcastle city Centre. We are a friendly and approachable team of people, with a passion for the good things in life. Born from nostalgia
My husband and I visited The French Quarter for a late lunch. We ordered from the lunchtime set menu, 3 courses for £11.99. We both started with squid, very tasty, I followed on with fish which was beautifully cooked. My husband had chicken with mash in a blue cheese sauce which looked scrummy and we both finished with creme brulee which was delicious. The portions were fairly small but it was a lunch. The quality of food was very good. Our waiter was excellent, friendly and informative. We had a leisurely lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it, We will definitely return when next in Newcastle.

Some really excellent braised featherblade and some very well cooked vegetables served with a good rich gravy. If not typical Italian then evoking the spirit of real Italian generosity. Good polite if apologetic staff, but as we were in no great hurry we had plenty of time to enjoy both the food and the Company. A really good cost effective Sunday lunch option!
