Nice Café with a breathtaking scenic view from the sunny and covered patio. Nice rooms indoors, great food, especially the large homemade pies and even bigger (ice-) cream puffs. The also have nice rooms and a stable for their horses. Good value!

Das Marktrestaurant has a Michelinstar for one year now. Owner Andreas and his wife Nancy no how to spoil their guests with great food and beautiful wines. The restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner is located in the lovely small village of Mittenwald, close to the border of Austria. That's why a lot of people, from example Seefeld, take a 15 min. drive to have a unique dinner. The price/quality is superb!!! Please open a second restaurant on our Markt in Amsterdam!!!!

"Beim Mimi" is the restaurant on the Tennsee caravan site in Krun. It is very popular with the local residents as well as with campsite users. The menu is varied but with an emphasis on German cuisine. Inside, the restaurant is spacious and the decor is authentic with carved wooden beams all around. Their main menu is available in a choice of languages, but their daily specials list is only available in German. Most of the staff speak some English and although I have only limited German we never had any problems.

Food was a dissapointment for the price, tap water was 2,7 euros. Wiener schnitzel had more crust than meat.

We have been to this restaurant with local food and good portions twice: for lunch and dinner. And would be coming back! There are meat, fish and vegetarian options and kids are also well looked after.

Block's Post in Krün offers a varied menu with a mix of wonderful takes on lokal dishes based on the best produce, prepared deliciously simple, as well as more modern dishes. Good wine, beer and great cocktails. Service is friendly nononsense. Very good value. The best culinary experience in Bayern yet. Don't miss it! And remember to book a table.

Absolutely gorgeous interior, touch more formal than most. Bavarian with personality. Food excellent, waiter helpful. Might be our new favorite restaurant in the area. Well worth driving to from Garmish-Partenkirch (nearest big tourist town), through the gentle meadows surrounded by the Alps.

Such fun hiking up to this charming cafe! We had an iced coffee and visited with our friends, enjoying the fairy tale view of Krün from this mountain perch.

My wife and I have stayed in Mittenwald multiple times and then go on progressively longer hikes. On this visit we took a beautiful 6+-mile hike to Krün, and then planned to have lunch at Parkrestaurant. The first challenge was finding it. Google Maps does not seem to work particularly well, and we had multiple reroutes while walking there, but we persisted. We arrived as they were opening for lunch. The weather was glorious and we got to sit outdoors. Everyone else had the same preference. Although the indoor dining room is large and has a nice separation of tables, the outdoor patio was just lovely. We started with beer and some freshly baked pretzels. I would encourage you to try them and order one per person. They will be gone before you know it. It being a Friday, they offered fresh local trout (Forelle) and my wife chose that as her main course. You don't often see calves liver on menus back in the US, and my wife doesn't like liver (perhaps because her mother cooked it poorly) so I don't make it at home very often. Both dishes came with a salad that was very nice. In a country where you often find cabbage and carrots, it was nice to have a salad devoid of cabbage. (I like cabbage salads, but not with every meal.) The trout was large and nicely cooked. If you are going, want to try it, and don't know how to bone a fish, there must be a YouTube video you can watch. They do not bone it for you. I ended up doing the honors for my wife. She devoured the fish, and the bite of it she shared was really quite delicious. She also commented that the boiled potatoes were tastier than the potatoes we get at home in CA. I believe the serve the trout Friday thru Sunday. The liver was served on a bed of mashed potatoes, and had some nice crisp onion on top. The gravy was very tasty. If my German were a bit more robust, and after eating the dish, I would order it a bit less well done the next time, but the liver was tender, flavorful, and not at all bitter (as liver can become when overcooked). It was a very delicious and satisfying lunch. We had eaten the prior day at the #2 ranked place in Mittenwald, and preferred this lunch to the one we had there. We asked before we ordered, and were informed that the restaurant does not accept credit cards. We had enough cash so it was not a problem, but be forewarned, and get cash. There is a teller machine in the center of town at the Sparkasse, so if you arrive and are short of cash, you can pick some up there. If you are staying in one of the neighboring towns, there is periodic bus service, and after our walk there we opted for a bus back to Mittenwald. It was a bit of a wait, but once on the bus, a quick ride. If you are staying in a hotel or renting an apartment and the hosts have provided an Alpenwelt Card for Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau, then you can use this for the bus fare. We didn't know this, but fortunately happened to notice a woman ahead of us using her card. It will save you 2-3 Euros per person per ride. We were very favorably impressed with the meal. Krün is even sleepier and quieter than Mittenwald, and has some absolutely lovely vistas. I believe there are only 900 or so year-round residents. It is a very pleasant town to visit, either on foot or by bus, and let me recommend the restaurant to you with enthusiasm. We do expect that during future visits to the area we will reenact our hike, and visit the restaurant again. When the weather is beautiful, the outdoor patio provides a wonderful venue, and I am confident that you will find something to enjoy on the menu. Each time we visit the area we find a hidden gem or two. Parkrestaurant fits that description for this visit.

Very good people human and open for questions and suggestions. Asking for feedback and improvements. The tables on the walkway was not a problem as it is fun watching people in and outside the restaurant walking by. The train can be a bit noisy but only for a moment. Food was very good and light, pasta or dumplings. It was so good I had to eat two evenings in a row, and as I was climbing up the Zugspitze, I asked for a BIG "Männer" portion of pasta and got it, just right to close such a heroic day!!! Thanks team well done!
