Go for the views or don't go at all. The food is unimaginative for the price charged; cooked poorly, presented adequately. Starter salad for 12 euros included, among other prawns, raisins, endives and walnuts in thick mayonnaise. The 15 euro dorada was poorly cooked and the fish didn't part from the skin easily (fresh?). Lots of paella being eaten, we were not offered a menu del dia. Service good. Another restaurant 1 km along the road may be worth trying.

Want great food at sensible prices, then it don't get much better than Casa Bou. Small, very Spanish, restaurant/bar hidden in the back streets of a small village called Sant Joan De Moro, Castellon. Try the locally sourced Gambas Al Ajillo (King Prawns) cooked in a toasted garlic sauce prepared by Santi, the chef, wonderfull!. Open lunch times, and gets busy so you may need to book.

We had the "menu traditional" and were seriously impressed with the quality and the inventive combinations. The tomato on a bed of some sardine-paste was most impressive. No wonder that the chef earned a prestiguous price with this recipe. The egg with local mushrooms was also absolutely tastefull. The sommeliers choice of the wine was excellent and included a locally produced red wine. All in all an unforgetable diner for a very reasonable price. A big thanks to the chef!

A deceptively large restaurant with outside tables spreading down the pavement outside. A varied menu, friendly staff, generous well cooked portions usually with a good selection of vegetables. We are regular visitors when in the area and would highly recommend a visit.

This place goes the extra mile and cannot be faulted! The food was absolutely glorious and plentiful, especially the mushrooms, and the waitress (and I suspect joint owner) a really lovely lady who couldnât have been more helpful. We will definitely return.Thank you very much for your lovely comment! Vilafames is already declared one of the most Charming Villages of Spain (Pueblo mas bonito of Spain). Within its main street is this small restaurant where authentic renewed Spanish cuisine is offered. Simple, fresh ingredients, original and just oozing good flavors. We visited it two times one week apart. The first, when we found it and the second, when hosting visitors from California we wanted to show something different. Indeed, the owner was so accommodating that aware that we were pressed for time on our way toward Valencia lets us arrive at 1 pm to host us in one of their few impressive window seats. We tried their Puglia imported burrata, Cordoba-style fried eggplant , home cured boquerones prepared from a fresh catch using an orange zest instead of the traditional vinegar/oil/garlic, thin crispy bread covered with caramelized onions with blood pudding from Burgos topped each with a fried quail egg, fresh vieras and seafood "cannelloni" (crepes stuffed with seafood). Their carpaccio of oranges or of pineapple made for tasty desserts. All are modest portions right to share and more can be added from their creative carte, if hungrier. Wine by the glas is available and the bubbly owner provides three different local wine to tasty to choose at no extra price. The place is small and the entry room, the largest component, gets very crowded, particularly on a weekend. Hence a reservation is highly advisable. Parking in basically a medieval town is complicated, but going higher toward the castle a site maybe found . If not, at the base of the village there is public parking .Prices at the restaurant are very good and items in their wine list too. The service, even in a very crowded day, was friendly and efficient.
