Prima, in Dutch, means "excellent" and that it was. We decided to go out for dinner and Prima was recommended. The small menu offered a nice combination of Dutch fare. We were intrigued by the "surprise" menus, offering 3,4 or 5 courses. all three of us settled on the 4 course offering and we were not disappointed. From a wonderful offering of Steak Tartare to creamy asparagus soup (perhaps the tastiest I have ever had) and a delicious corn fed chicken offering we enjoyed a leisurely dinner. The service by our waitress was delightful and un-rushed. No doubt we'll be back before we return home, even if it is just for a drink and some Bitterballen.

Stayed in the hotel and had dinner (twice), lunch (once) and breakfast (three times) here. I'll talk about dinner. Food was really, really good. I've eaten at some of the best restaurant's in the world (and some really dives), this restaurant equates to some of the best in England, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, USA, Peru etc. I've eaten in. What puzzles me is why it's not Michelin stared. The staff are great and, although the restaurant was busy, handled things very well. The food at both dinners was also great, the wine went perfectly. I'm not a wine buff and went with the house wine both times, one red and the other white. Not over the top but very nice and complimented the meal.

We went to Tante Sjaan restaurant for a coffee and some pie, after a 20k hike through the woods. Hungry and tired, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere of this restaurant. Around the corner (we didn't see it at first, so ask!) the fireplace was burning nicely, so we settled right in front of it and ordered coffee and apple pie.The huge piece of pie, combined with a enormous amount of whipping-cream and other goodies made this a party on a plate. What a treat! Although we did not have dinner here, I know I will go back there for dinner! This is quality food! Great staff.

This is definitly one of the best Pannenkoekenhuis in Holand. The cosy atmosphere is great and the wide Pannenkoeken options are just wonderfull. A professional and friendly service makes the rest. A must in the region. You must visit if you are a Pannenkoeken fan like I am

This restaurant is just what you need. Cosy atmosphere with love for detail. Most important of all is the food of course. I do not know how the chef does it but I would have loved to try everything from the menu. Very interesting it is. When the food arrived I was really impressed. All three courses were fantastic and the amuses in-between also of the best quality and made with lovely imagination. Everything is home made, including the bread and chocolates, mmm. They even have their own rose petal tea, a dream for your taste buds. I will go there again and again.

Riding the " Houtvesters" bicycle tour we took a lunch on the terrace of this cosy restaurant. There were quite a number of people enjoying the same terrace 4/5 so the ambiance was good. We choose Cappuccino 4/5, Panini Chicken 4/5 and a Vossenberg lunch, 3 fried eggs sunny side up, ham, bacon, mixed salad and " huzaren salad" with freshly baked Veluwe bread 4/5. The service was friendly and efficient. 4/5 A good place to recover and to get prepare for the second half of the interesting bicycle trip.

This is the third time we've returned to Vierhouten just to visit the Novice. This time we made a 400 mile trip out of our way - it really is worth it!Great service, exquisite food, simply amazing.I've eaten in some great restaurants, many with multiple Michelin stars, but this is still the best restaurant I've ever eaten in.Maybe they'll get more than one English menu next year! :-)

The choices of pasta offered on the menu were relatively disappointing. I expected to have a lot more and extraordinary ways of how to serve pasta, however, I experienced the menu being not very satisfying and quite 'usual'.Nevertheless, when we got our food, it was very nicely served. The taste was good and also the sizing of the portion was more than enough. The service was okay. Some of the waitresses were very nice, helpful and polite, some others were lacking a little bit in their hospitality performance. Tip: If it is warm enough outside, make use of their charming little tables outside the restaurant to dine :)
