We have spent a nice evening at Steinerwirt. You can either sit inside or if it is warm enough outside at the beautiful terrace under the trees. We had some Austrian dishes such as - Flädlesuppe- Kasnocken- Beef TartareAll of it very yummieh! The service was friendly and fast.Dear svk1201,thank you for your visit at our restaurant and the nice review. We are really happy that you enjoyed the typical Austrian kitchen at our restaurant.

Cosy restaurant & bar. International kitchen with a touch of asia
This hotel is average in terms of food quality, quality of room & service. Hotel & room size are compact. Overall, cleanliness is average. Restaurant has very few items for vegetarians. Staff is polite. Only advantage is that it is very close to the lake.

Viehhofen is a small village down the valley towards Zell am See away from Saalbach and Hinterglemm. It is blessed with few facilities apart from a small but well stocked shop and good ski-hire/school centre. As we were staying in a self cater apartment, most evenings we ate in, but on the last night we visited Dorfstadl, as it was within walking distance and offered a reasonable choice at fair prices. Frankly, we could not have eaten better for the price, and the atmosphere was just right, with a quiet but warm welcoming austrian feel about it.I ate a pork cordon-bleu which was excellent, my son had fish (perch..white flesh not unlike cod), and my wife tenderloin pork with mushroom sauce. each dish came with a generous supply of vegetables. We chose the House White which was an austrian dry, and at 10 euro for a litre, you cannot beat that! The sweets were delicious. We last visited Viehhofen and Dorfstadl 13 years ago, and would not hesitate to go again.

Are rather absurd âfusionâ concept - just look at the name. But thankfully they keep the star ingredients apart as god intended (have you ever seen a chicken swim? (Although Iâve seen a parrot fish...)). Sorry, where was I? Yes, superb grilled chicken, succulent meat which tasted of chicken (rare these days), and tasty crispy skin, just the right side of too salty. As I said to a friend, I cannot recall ever eating a better one. Served naked (the chicken) along with fresh homemade bread. And all housed in a stunning building (think âdesign by James Bond villanâ), and jaw dropping views.

The original hut "Asitzhutte" was built in 1930, when the region at the Asitz was used for skitouring. After the construction of the first cable car in the 1970's, the hut became a ski restaurant. In the year 2010, the Altenberger family purchased the hut
All ski-mountain huts in Austria and Germany seem to be similar - same sort of menu full of high-calorie ski-fuel, good friendly, quick & efficient service, immaculately clean including the toilets. Really - they're all fantastic. This one is a little bit special even then - a little bigger, better food, and beautiful slightly quirky fit-out (down to the gents toilets looking out on the ski slope - I hope it's one-way glass!).It was a bit more expensive than I expected though.

Delicious. Very accommodating of our party of 7, we had not booked. Huge, Austrian portions. Nut allergies and coeliac in our party were looked after. We would definitely return.

In 1999/2000 the Alte Schmiede was built to be an outstanding mountain and ski restaurant with 400 seats, which is open in summer and winter. It belongs to the hotel Krallerhof. In 2008 the Alte Schmiede was extended to accomodate up to 550 guests. Decora
Respect to people working at these alms, because it gets really crowded at peak times. It's suprising that the food is of so good quality. My only problem was the hectic and vibrant atmosphere - I am not prepared for the "waka waka" (too much noise) in the alps, though I have to say this place has an atmosphere. Anyway, keep up the good service.

As usual Trip advisor did the trick. This place was highly recommend and indeed this place was amazing. Everything we had was great, fresh ingredients, fantastic presentation and most importantly, amazing taste. Indeed highly recommend if you are around that beautiful area and you are not, then it is worth the special drive.

Cycling through Viehhofen we decide to stop for lunch. What a find, just off the main street slightly up the hill. We sat outside on the sunny terrace and were we had a toastie and a turkey steak. Both we beautifully presented and served by an extremely pleasant waiter. Will definitely be back.

Welcome to the cozy mountain inn "Hecherhutte" in the beautiful village Viehofen. Our mountain inn is located at an altitude of 1250m. Enjoy our local specialties on the sunny terrace. A relaxed atmosphere with a beautiful view promises an unforgettable d
We two septuagenarians spent three hours walking up the Hecherberg - really hard - but the Hecherhuette appeared like an angel with the most refreshing beer and wonderfully warm welcome. But the local steak ('Hechersteak') was to die for! We've not had better - even in Argentina! We returned (by car) for our last - equally wonderful - meal in Austria. Our thanks to Luke from Wales who was a delightful host and to Jamila who runs a truly special establishment.
