Cosy coffee shop in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland. There's always soup of the day and the famous traditional Icelandic Meatsoup with bread and coffee. Cakes and sweetbreads, coffee or hot chocolate. Everyone welcome, the staff is always ready to help.
Hardly anything in Vestmaennyjar opens before 11am, and this place opens right at 11. We took a coffee break here because itâs in the center of town. Coffee was good, staff pleasant, prices fair. They look to have a good lunch and some nice deserts on offer, but we didnât try any.

We decided to splurge and had Sunday lunch at Slippurinn. It was wonderful. My wife had the three-course meal consisting of halibut soup, fish, and a skyr dessert. It was all excellent, but the halibut soup was incredible! (See the recent review in Forbes magazine.) I had the lamb, which literally melted in my mouth. I never expect to have lamb that good again. If we had known how good Slippurinn was, we would have dined there every day. It is not that expensive for the quality you get (especially after paying Reykjavik prices for meals that were not nearly as good).

GOTT is a healthy, creative family owned restaurant in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland with fresh, authentic ingredients. The restaurant makes its breads freshly every day and all food is made from scratch every day. Fresh fish from the fish marked. The head chef
The restaurant was crowded which is always a good sign, but even though every table was taken inside and out, we didn't have to wait long for our meal. The fresh cod was especially good. We had cod the night before at a fancier restaurant and this was better, lightly seasoned (not fried) and moist and flaky.
