Reviews on European food in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The north Indian city of Varanasi, or Benares, is regarded as sacred by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. Situated in the fertile Ganga valley and on the banks of the Ganges, Varanasi is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus, who come to bathe in the holy river. Known as the City of Temples and a beacon of culture, Varanasi has produced many renowned writers. It’s also a center of silk weaving, so practice haggling at the chaotic bazaar for some beautiful souvenirs. Rickshaws are the best way to get about.

Barbeque Nation doesn't require any introduction. After getting popularity in all the major cities they are now in Varanasi. I have visited this place one time only with my parents on their anniversary. Everything here is up to the mark like other outlets. Just staff needs some training, nothing else.So i visited this place to give my parents surprise on their anniversary (Generally I have found Barbque Nations best for this & have done this many times on birthdays of my friends & siblings in Noida & Delhi outlets). One of the staff members asked in front of my mom-dad, 'Sir..cake kon se flavour ka laana hai' I was like 'are bhai surprisa tha aur tm mere mom-dad k samne hi puch diya'Again, it went well. They during cake cutting they started singing 'Wish you a very-very happy birthday' ...bhai anniversary hai.Only these 2 incidents made me feel bad for this place. But i am sure they will polish this very beautifully. Other than that everything was great. Ambiance, food quality & service everything is really good. I will recommend everyone to visit this place for an amazing experience.
I stopped by the Toxic (ha) a couple times but strangely, there was never anyone in there. This was hardly surprising.

This spacious restaurant is run inside the Alka Hotel which offers the best river side views as it is located right at the beautiful ghats of Maa Ganga. There is an exclusive entry to the hotel cum restaurant from the ghat side and ideally suits to the ghat walkers to just get in and to have a relaxing dine in experience. The well maintained lawn area and open terrace dining adds more beauty to the restaurant. Though they serve variety of items, their service needs to improve a lot. Yet one would obviously gove 5 stars to this place especially for its location. Maa ganga aarti can be enjoyed from the terrace top and so the amazing view of colorful ghats at either side. Food items are a bit costlier, but their major target customers are the foreign inmate guests (with all privileges) than desi eaters.

Vegan & Raw is the first Vegan restaurant in Varanasi. It encourages healthy food choices and respect for nature. It is a branch of Brown Bread Bakery, the profit is used to support the projects of Learn for Life. It has a garden sitting area in the backs
and Varanasi so far. I visit this restaurant every winter on my way to Nepal. Last winter I had a pizza, which was a disappointment. There wasn't much toppings neither much vegan cheese. This winter I had a tofu skewer, which was much better. Prices are quite high but I come back. Vegan restaurants are hard to find in India. Even this restaurant has cow cheese pizza options.

Wow. The food here is great and cheap (especially the Indian food), the manager (mahendra) is such a friendly guy, and it's a great place to get out of the heat and relax. Cushion seating at floor level, but they have tables as well.
