I've been to this place several times and I have to say that the location is great and the restaurant very roomy. Food is very good and tasty, especially pizza with burrata and culatello, but prices are a bit highDear lucadambro, thanks for the nice comment. The food cost is, by in large, in line with organic food production, and for sure the pizza price is roughly 10 euro .. not so expensive.so please come back to try the new summer menu.kind regards

This restaurant, like Urbino itself, deserves much greater patronage. The restaurant is in a beautiful location on a quiet street beneath the botanical garden. We had a wonderful outdoor dinner on a serene evening. I had the 3-course fish meal (tuna appetizer, shrimp linguine, and monkfish) which was totally fresh, innovative, and delicious. I could not believe that on a Friday midsummer evening there were only 2 other tables occupied.

We stayed in Urbino for four nights recently. We discovered Ragno d'oro on the second evening and had all our remaining dinners there. The food and the atmosphere are just great and service is excellent, too. We had several dishes over these three nights. The risotto al funghi porcini was amazing, the pizza's were among the best I have had worldwide. A thin crusty bottom and fresh ingredients on top. The side dishes were very tasty. We had the cooked or grilled vegetables several times. We also ordered a salad each time. The Greek salad was our favorite with great tasting olives and feta. The red house wine was very much to our taste as well.Don't be mistaken by the large size of the restaurant and the many tables they have. The food and service was of constant high quality all three nights and the restaurant was full most of the times. The staff work really hard and despite the large numbers of customers they welcome each evening, they remembered that we liked to finish with a portion of fresh melon-pieces followed by a decaf espresso.

Down the hill (take the small alley) from the main piazza, La Balestra has outdoor seating that is grand. When we arrived, there was one waiter (apologies, the other waiter was sick) and a party of 28 had just arrived. He told us "20 minutes" and he kept his word, he managed to get to us, take our order (he didn't have to write anything down) and got us bread, water, and then serve our food. The pasta was great, the antipasto a different take on the usual, and the people who left, missed out on a great lunch.
