Betulla is a family friendly restraunt serving excellent food with great service!
Just had a very mixed experience at Betulla's. Service was OK, prompt and professional. The starter of a shared melted Camenbert was excellent. The main course however was very mixed. My partner had the vegetarian Pizza which was good. I chose the 'Calzone Ricardo'... All seemed fine and it was hot and tasty until almost three quarters of the way through I reached some of the base which was clearly raw and had an elastic and very doughy texture to it. On completing the dish the waitress approached and I pointed out to her my concerns. She agreed it was as described and promised to bring my concerns to the chef. We ordered two espresso coffees whilst we waited for her response. The coffees arrived (from an in house vending machine) and we were told that these would be free of charge as compensation for the meal. They arrived but were both only luke warm. She eventually returned and I pointed this out to her and handed us the bill. Only to find that the coffees were now added to it. I handed it back to her and asked her to re-adjust it taking into account the poor main course and the two luke warm coffees. She returned and stated that she had spoken to the manager and it was company policy to charge full price for food that had been eaten. I informed her that I had eaten all of the mealnthst was edible and had shown her the remainder that wasn't which she had witnessed and agreed was raw. She went away again to 'speak to the owner'. On her return she said she would deduct one of the gin & tonics and the two coffees. I told her this was unacceptable and off she went again only to return a short while later apparently having again spoken to this elusive manager/owner. She now agreed to refund half of the calzone. One gun & tonic and not charge for the coffees. By now I was losing my patience and agreed this as my partner was becoming embarrassed and I too felt very uneasy as the couples on the adjoining tables were clearly fed up with this constant and frankly pointless haggling. We paid the bill and left.... never to return again. This situation could easily have been avoided. The restaurant is pleasant, the poor waitress was clearly put in an awkward situation and was let down badly by her management. As I said the starter was delicious and had this whole debacle been dealt with better Betulla's may well have had a return visit. My advice.. if you must have the Calzone, check that its cooked and dont complain, it's pointless. Good luck in the future Betulla's as with practices like this you are going to need it.

Terrible service. Food took ages to come, (1 hour) for 2 meals, it wasnt at all busy, it was slightly warm not hot. The bacon was more fat than meat. When the girl brought our food she dropped half of it on the floor and caught some in her hands she then chucked the onion rings she had caught back onto my plate... disgusting. Toilets stunk and one was blocked. Tables were sticky and dirty as were the high chairs.Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you had this experience and that we did not deliver our usual level of customer service. We make all food to order and at busy periods, food service can be slower that our usual service time but we always endeavour to serve food as quickly as possible. We have thoroughly investigated your concerns about the waitress and we have taken the appropriate actions to ensure that this never happens again. As a community organisation, we offer free access to our toilets to all members of the public using the park, whether they use the café or not. We regularly clean them and inspect them throughout a day. If our customers are unhappy with our service and facilities, we would ask them to let us know at the time and we will attempt to address any issues raised.

Passed a number of times when it's not been open, lucky this W/E. Coffee is very good and the scones were still warm served with plenty of butter and lovely blackcurrant jam, which is a nice change. Service was efficient and friendly, price was very reasonable. It is quite small and narrow so may not be super accessible.

We were camping and it was raining hard so decided to escape to a pub for a meal. The pub is beautiful inside with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Very dog friendly. There is a limited menu which I think is a good thing that places focus on what they do well. The sharing platter starter was delicious. The mains - steak for me and steak and ale pie for the husband were good just not quite five stars. Just a bit of a lack of gravy in the pie and no veg with the steak. The sticky toffee pudding was also delicious.
