Best European restaurants nearby. Discover the best European food in Tubingen. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for European restaurants near you.. Some towns have peach festivals. Some have blueberry festivals. Some even have onion festivals. All of those are nice, but we think Tubingen made the right call in hosting a chocolate festival. It’s the biggest in Europe and is held in early December. At any time of year, travelers will enjoy exploring this sweet-toothed university town.

Very friendly service, relaxed atmosphere. The chef is very accommodating to the guests' requests. We had the Tomato soup (freshly made, with fresh herbs, just perfect), lamb Maroccan style, and fish, accompanied by rosemary potatoes and a platter with Maroccan-style fried vegetables. Very tasty! For dessert we had a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, very light but great taste. Recommendable!

Our family had lunch twice here in the past couple of months. Both experiences were the same- Food and ambience great, service not good! The most memorable dish, which was a special, was the grilled salmon with white asparagus and a lemon butter sauce, it was wonderful. Definitely the best salmon dish I've had in Tubingen since we have lived here!! The ambience is romantic in a stone setting with candles and the Sicilian house white wine, very good! It's definitely a really cool space. Unfortunately the servers are not very friendly and are not attentive at all. You have to chase them down to order anything. I hope they work on that because if they do it would be a 5 star experience!

We took the set menu, since it seemed enough interesting and diverse. The asparagus and salmon appetizer was a bit bland and had no real identity, when the wild garlic soup with shrimp was fantastic, probably the highlight of the whole meal. For the main dish they served a well prepared beef fillet, however the side dish made of beans and red pepper was subpar. Peppers took over the whole dish and the structure of the 'beans polenta' was simply wrong. The warm goat cheese dish was OK, probably too heavy after such a strong meat dish. And they forgot to refill the bread basket. As dessert we were served rhubarb strudel with vanilla ice cream. The strudel was very good, it seemed to be made with a special 'grandma' touch. There was nothing wrong with the ice cream, but I couldn't shake the feeling that they simply bought it in EDEKA or LIDL. It's perfectly good ice cream, but such a manner seems a bit 'shallow' for an establishment as Waldhorn. The staff is relaxed and competent, but lacks some knowledge of wine pairing. Perhaps they could be slightly more attentive. Because of very poor wine suggestions, I cannot judge their wine selection. It is not about the wine list itself, it's all about what the waiter or the sommelier does with it! The atmosphere is nice, very pleasant, the interior is classic, yet charmingly in touch with the upper-scale dinning. In short, we are not German, so it was only average for us, and definitely not worth of a Michelin star, but it is very much above average by the German standards. And it seems reliable in the consistency of the quality.

We dropped in for a late dinner (21:30) and were delighted by the friendly welcome and in general the friendly service, also the nice decor. We both ordered pasta dishes, which came quickly, in fact a bit too quickly to be a relaxed dinner. The food tasted good but it fell short of being great. (Perhaps we were spoiled by the excellent restaurant we recently visited in Nürnberg). Somehow it appeared hastily prepared and not lovingly made from scratch. The panna cotta for dessert tasted good but was so soft the waitress has to apologise for it.Overall the experience was okay, and in fact the food fair for the pretty good price (30EUR for two main courses, a shared dessert, a beer and a mineral water). Just not the Italian where you would say "we must go back".If you find my review helpful, I would appreciate your vote.

This place is large and on several floors with indoor/outside areas. Tubingen is a university town and so there are lots of students. They have taken that into account and so the prices are low and the portions huge! The quality was also good and we had a pleasant evening trying their beers - they even have a special tasting menu - and watching the boats go by. A nice spot and very popular. Good, friendly service.

Some of the restaurant staff were friendlier than others, tried the beef hot pot with Swabian noodles and was not impressed. Some reviews of the restaurant were very positive, I think maybe the standard is just different! I personally will not return.

Meze Akademie is the only place in Tübingen where flavor and design are combined at their best. We come from Greece and this was the only place that brought the gastronomic taste we miss..combined always with a heartwarming feeling of Greek hospitality.

Sitting outside in summer is nice. Reservation recommended. The Pizza are good and large. The fish plates overpriced for what you get and the quality you get. I had salmon with asperagus. Cost â¬26. Small piece of salmon, totally overcooked. 3 small asperagus, also overcooked and totally soft. 1 lemon wedge, that was fresh. For ⬠26 at other places you get a plate of prime beef with vege and sides and salat.....The other plate we had was spaghetti with parmesan and truffle. Also â¬26. Taste was good and generous shaving of truffles, but it was swimming in oil or butter which made it quite heavy on the stomach.
