Would you like to travel but staying in Troyes? Come to the BARCI-BARLA to discover our selection of tea and cofee, cocktails, world wine, beers from here and oversea... Each week we cook a menu of a country for lunch
Lovely setting for a sunny day. The tables set outside under the trees. A set German menu, despite this being a tapas restaurant. They offer food from a different country every week. The starter sounded weird but Iâm open to surprises. A pretzel with Béchamel and cheese. Imagine a giant one with a dry coating of cold cheese sauce.Main course: Curry Wurst with chips. Turned out to be thick slices of one smoked saveloy served with a spicy tomato sauce (the best thing about the dish), a few scrawny chips and a lazy salad dressed with the thickest brown mustard dressing Iâve seen in my life. A bottle of Perrier. â¬16.50.I told the server and the cook about my disappointment but this is a place with many passing tourists. Who cares if they ever come back! Well, your review make our team feel really sad. That you didn't like your meal, I could understand it.But please, don't say we are that kind of «restaurant for tourists»... because we aren't!The waiter asked you why you were disapointed and, as you mentionned in your review, the cook also took the time to talk with you... We don't do our job for money (trust me, the rate salary/hour is not one of the best!), we do it with passion, for food and people. We only have tourists 4 months a year, the rest of the time our customers are locals and lot of them are friends now...and we DO care they come back!

Attractive wine cellar offering an interesting choice of wines and food at a limited number of tables. There is a choice of 5 or 6 wines by the glass or you can pay a corkage charge of 7 euros per bottle for wine bought in the shop. The food is simple but tasty and well prepared. I particularly enjoyed the 'caillette' which is a haggis shaped pudding from the Auvergne filled with seasoned chopped pork and which was served with mashed potato. The local andouillettes were popular. Service was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Well worth a visit but best to book as tables are limited and fill up quickly. They also have a wine stall in the covered market.

We chose here as it seemed a bit special and of course was well reviewed. I was keen to try Steak Tartare for the first time so now seemed the right time to indulge. It was served 'l'italienne' which was it seems an Italian twist in the classic. I was more than happy with the choice. It was supremely tasty. Everything else was perfect too. Including service and the general ambience. It's right in the middle of town so no trouble finding it. Parking might be a touch tricky.

We had a stop in our road trip to eat in Troyes, we were surprised to find such a good quality restaurant in a small, out of the way town. The service was great and the atmosphere relaxed. I specially reccomend la Saltimbocca Romana, and the pizzas are all amazing.

The restaurant has a nice location in Troyes and it was very busy when we dined. Ordering is challenging since their menus are in French. After some struggling with Google translate we were given an iPad with a menu in English - would have been nice to be given that right after we asked for an English menu. Our friends ordered a selection of rillettes and they were very good. With the bread provided these could be a meal in itself. I ordered a tartine which was very big and filling; it was good. I wanted to try an andouillette but the waiter was concerned I may not like it and talked me out of it.It seemed very busy and service could be better; we enjoyed their annexe better.

Great location in old town, with a secluded terrasse. Good wine/champagne list. Good choice of menu and a la carte. My food was ok but I was expecting better based on the reviews. For instance the chocolate plate dessert was very filling and not very delicate (too much on the plate, some a bit dry), the langoustine starter was ok but too much sauce and the choux parcel tasted like it was filled with jam. My main course was excellent though.

Forget the tourist traps in town and walk 10/15 minutes from the centre to this charming brasserie set in an old mansion. Young and enthusiastic staff who speak better English than I do French. Delicious home-made food. Large terrace with slatted sun shade so you can eat outside in the garden if the weather is kind. Only quibble is that wine by the glass is expensive at 5+ ⬠per 100cl and served in ridiculously small tasting glasses. Mainly frequented by the locals which says it all.

We booked a table for 6 for a Saturday evening meal, following recommendations from Trip Advisor. We were staying over for one night in Troyes. It was obvious that the staff couldnât really cope with the fact that they were busy. The food was very mediocre, nothing to write home about. Pizzas were average. Service was slow and not friendly, as the previous recommendations had suggested. Trying to get a waitressâ attention to order more drinks was very difficult. We only had one course and were then told that they had no internet and we would have to get cash out of the machine down the road. A word of warning...the bill wasnât itemised, so if you do have the misfortune of eating here, make sure you add it up yourself!Hello saddened for your dissatisfaction it is true that you came the 1st opening day further to our moving we were seen customers' large number where from your wait(expectation) and as regards your regulation(payment) our terminal was not connected(bound) with Internet (foreign bank card only) In spite of our lack of organization we made every effort to satisfy our customers we did not understand your attitudes to throw(launch) the bill(ticket) on the bar.sur it good continuation. Cordially Piazza

Situated just at the border of Troyesâ historic center, some reviewers referred to this restaurant as a tourist trap. I couldnât disagree more. The food was really good, service fast and friendly and ... the restaurant offers a choice of (good) champagnes for les than EUR 6 per glass. Once more TAâs overall review ranking pointed me towards a great meal.
