Had looked at this place before and glad we finally tried it. The fresh oysters were great. I tried the carrot soup and a salad topped with jamon, cheese, figs and grapes...both were fresh and tasty. My husband tried the Beaumont cheese salad plate which he liked a lot. The two serving were efficient but a little stressed....maybe a third waitperson would help. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I went to La Cité de la Mer to look at the great attractions. Before I started going round the attractions a spot of lunch was needed. There are two places to eat Le Quai des Mers and Le Ruben Bleu. I went to Le Quai des Mers with is an A La Carte restaurant which triumphs with seafood. First got there and were seated within minutes. Drinks ordered and a browse of the menu followed. I ordered from the A La Carte menu which was a three course meal for about â¬20. I ordered to start Duo de bulots et crevettes roses, mayonnaise citronnée. It was really nice, the whelks were interesting but tasty and the prawns were really fresh and tender. Then for my main course I ordered Choucroute océane which is salmon, haddock, plaice and prawns on a bed of Sauerkraut in a cream sauce with vegetables. It was well cooked and had amazing a taste. I then finished with Sorbet pomme arrosé de Calvados. It was a fresh apple sorbet covered in Calvados the waiter was very generous with Calvados so be aware. All in all a great menu. Amazing food and Polite staff. Will definitely go again.Hello Sam B,We are delighted with your nice comments on our table. All the team of QDM thanks you for it !!We hope to see you again during a next visit in Normandy.Cordially,

Although this doesnât look promising from the outside, on a small shopping centre, inside it was atmospheric if rather boyishly black and white.Starters of eggs mayonnaise and snails were good. Mains of lamb spiced and wrapped in very fine filo pastry and lambs kidneys in cream were delicious. Not fine dining but very good

Our fourth visit here. Imaginative menu , excellent menu. The Steak I had was superb, very tender in a rich sauce. The lunchtime menu , taking into consideration the food quality was great value for money. The staff were attentive and fun.We will continue to recommend Le Patio to our friends.

We enjoyed our meal very much. Heavenly baked oysters, trio of fish and a Chocolat desert. Slightly hushed atmosphere and dated 80s/90s interior (think Holiday Inn breakfast restaurant in that era) but it really didn't matter. Friendly service and, as mentioned, delicious food.

After a great day exploring the Cherbourg peninsular we were a little late in finding somewhere to eat, however the Au Saint Michel was only a short distance from the hotel and still accepting patrons at 21:00.The restaurant is small and homely with an open dining room on the ground floor. The menu places an emphasis on sweet and savoury crepes although there are a few meat dishes offered from the grill including Steak. We opted for the savoury crepes having had a fantastic steak the night before. The crepes were absolutely delicious, I was very tempted to have another but I opted for one of the delicious deserts instead. If you want a simple, homely meal in pleasant surroundings served by friendly staff (who do speak English) then Au Saint Michel is highly recommended.

Found this place as the other steak restaurant we often go to was shut. Great find on an unassuming backstreet, fairly small. Locals love it too. All grilled items cooked on the open fire in the front of the restaurant. Ate the sausages which were very salty but tasty, friends had the Côte de bouef which was good though possibly a bit rarer than asked for - maybe that's just France! Small but good wine list, we had a Bordeaux - Les Angiers. Was eating in a large group of 7/8 people and service was quick and polite. Dessert also delicious!

Simple place but there is something special about it. Service, food quality and service staff. The restaurant itself decoration, location and set up is very basic but the dining experience was great. Good value for money in the heart of Cherbourg

Stooped in after walking around Cherbourg. The staff was friendly and helped with the menu. Had a three course fixed price meal. All the courses were outstanding. Never thought of vegetable tiramisus but the dish was delicious, a combination of fresh veggies with humus and pesto sauce. Would go back if in Cherbourg again.
