Great staff, felt very welcome. Thanks to the Royal York concierge for the great recommendation. In town for the Tiff and walked to the restaurant, google had it in a slightly different position. We called and the Sommelier stood outside and waved us in with a friendly face.We had him recommend the wine and grappa, both were outstanding despite being in a midrange price point.We shared the best grilled calamari Iâve had anywhere. Which they split in the kitchen at no charge. I had the wild boar ragu on wonderful house made fresh pasta. My wife had a tiger shrimp (prawn) dish also on wonderful fresh house made pasta.

I came to TOCA for lunch. This is a fancy restaurant in the Ritz Carlton but I didnât find any of what I ordered was outstanding, special or even delicious. If you are hungry this place will definitely fill you up. The restaurant is very clean, the staff friendly and great at explaining the menu. We had the cabbage rolls with meat and the Potato Pancake Hungarian Style with the paprikash filling The side dishes that came with our meals were also excellent - the beet slaw with a hint of horseradish was very good. Wine by the glass is overpriced otherwise a wonderful place on Roncesvalles.

So I only remember one thing that I ate, which was one of the risottos. It was very good. We actually ordered a number of things and shared them. The atmosphere is nice and it's a move to a new location. The music was not blasting which was also good so you can have a conversation and more wine, rather than rushing out annoyed after your last bite.The service was lovely. I will go back.

the restaurant looks really good and the food is overall quite good. I have been there twice and the first time the service was fantastic. However, the second time, service was slow and unfriendly. The waiter was not very accommodating in regards to dietary requests. Also,although its good, its too expensive for what you get. Not good value.

Charming Olivier sets the tone for efficient and caring service here. He gave us interesting history and back stories on the wine and the area of Toronto where this restaurant is located. Lovely menu includes steak, fish, chicken and classic French items such as escargot, onion soup. Plus, a range of impressive looking omelettes. Table shared an order of mussels which were excellent as was the bread served. We ordered grilled salmon (daily special of halibut was sold out) and steak. The entrees were adequate but not special. The decor is old, and note there are stairs to climb to access restaurant. This 41 yr old restaurant is worth a visit.

Madrina Bar y Tapas definitely serves very good food, nicely presented and tasting delicious. Our party of four followed the server's recommendation and we went for a tasting menu, 10 tapas. It gave us a lot of variety, which was nice. However the speed at which tapas were coming did not allow us to appreciate the food and have a conversation. When, after the 3rd serving we mentioned to the waiter that we would like to slow down, he kindly replied that he would pass our request to the chef. But it ended there; the pace did not change and we were feeling pushed around. You have to keep in mind that the tables are very small and if you pile thing up, it gets chaotic to the point you are almost scared to reach anything.The noise level, music and people talking, was also too high to have a pleasant dining experience; if you want to have a conversation, you need to scream.As someone else mentioned, this is a good restaurant for a pre or post dinner drink and tapas but if you hope for a good diner it might not be the best place. To sum up, it was very expensive for the experience.Lidia, thank you for following the server's recommendation! I'm disappointed to hear you felt rushed, this was not our intention.
