Note that although this is an hotel, I believe it should have a separate listing as a restaurant. I shall post a restaurant review, when listed.
Stayed here for 2 night break with a buyagift voucher. It wasnt too bad considering what we paid for it, but if I,d paid full price not so sure I,d be happy. We stayed in room 5 which is above the entrance door. Later on in the evening, if you have the window open you get noise from people downstairs and from people on the high street. The bed seemed tiny, I,m not sure if its a small double or 4ft 6 bed. There is a cane chair in the bedroom area that is not fit for purpose and would fall apart if someone sat in it. The bathroom was large but has scruffy bits in it and has an extractor fan that stays on all the time. There isn,t a lot to do in Saxmundham but is near to Southwold and other nice places to visit. We decided not to eat in the restaurant during our stay, but did get a drink in the bar. Parking in the public car park near the hotel was fine.Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you were not able to eat with us as I am sure you would have enjoyed it.
Have been to sizewell sports and social many times. And every visit is always welcoming and fun. Sonny and Lauren are very accomodating and always go out of their way to please everyone. Can't recommend it enough. Whether you just want a quiet drink or a meal, this is definitely the place to come

A unique beach side restaurant in the heart of the picturesque Aldeburgh. Serving Meals with daily menus as well as coffees.
Liked the look of the menu so we booked in advance. The food is very good and well presented. The service is slow and this busy restaurant seems understaffed which lets the place down. I even had to chase to pay my bill. For some reason the door was wedged open causing a draught. Maybe this is down to the log fire which gives the smoky smell and ambience but I noted several diners putting on their coats.

I visited here for a light lunch. It seemed chaotic. The staff were rushed and werenât familiar with the new menu when I asked questions. Lots of other people were having problems with their orders not just me. Things were being sent back to the kitchen by many people. I ordered a large latte and an avocado and chilli jam sandwich. The latte arrived and it was a small one so I had to ask for the larger one I had paid for. Then after over a 20 minute wait the sandwich finally arrived. I had long finished my coffee by this time. There were pieces of a boiled egg scattered on the plate, butter on the chopped cucumber where theyâd obviously been using the same chopping boards and equipment for different things, which everyone in the catering world knows you should never do. Also I donât like egg so I picked the bits off my plate, I did mention it to a rushed staff member they did apologise and offer to replace the sandwich. As is already waited so long I said not to bother. I was bitterly disappointed. We visit Aldeburgh regularly and eat out at lunch time often but this is one place I would never go to again. Shame as it has the potential to be a fab cafe. Iâm sure the kitchens could do with an inspection and the staff really need proper training.Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback of your recent experience at Two Magpies, Aldeburgh. I'm certainly surprised and sorry you had a poor experience on this occasion. I have spoken to the management team to get a better understanding of what happened and whilst they admit fault on serving the incorrect sized coffee, which was quickly addressed, they felt they had done everything on the day to try and mitigate the situation so it's disappointing to now read this feedback on Tripadvisor. I do apologise that you didn't receive the high level of service that we usual achieve but do hope that you would try us again where i'm certain we will deliver and meet your expectations. Kind Regards,Yasmin

The Seafood & Grill restaurant is a wonderful place to relax and soak up panoramic views along the beach, whatever the time of year, though if you are lucky enough to visit during summer, you can take full advantage of the sea-facing al fresco terrace. It
This place is lovely, right on the beachfront, huge outdoor patio overlooking the sea. So with the view etc you expect it to be expensive, but then you so expect the food to be good. We had decided to have fish and chips as we had already smelt some that people were eating from the many takeaways, but we wanted to sit down with a drink. £12.50 each for fish and chips, £34 in total with drinks, but hey, this is gone be so good. Wrong. Fish was tasteless, chips soggy as the liquid (water) from the peas had drenched the plate. Couldn't even smell the fish at all. As I said at this price you expect quality, wasn't until someone else ordered I realised why it wasn't so good. They asked what fish, and they were told haddock. Not cod. For this price I would expect cod. Won't be going back. Charge for quality, supply quality. Very dissapointing tasteless foodDear petesmithhomeMany thanks for your recent review. I apologise that your recent visit to the Brudenell did not meet your expectations. I will pass on your comments to the kitchen regarding the dish and If you would be so kind to email me regarding the service element I would be grateful. My email address is [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.Regards Rob DixonOperations Manager

Our new Bar and Brasserie has been inspired by a modern desire to return to simple, 'back to basics' food, offering freshly prepared dishes, contemporary, informal surroundings and impeccable service. We hope the whole family will enjoy dining with us. Fr
This restaurant is a bit basic in terms of decor and layout (it is the White Lion Hotel's main restaurant and bar, open from breakfast to late) but we had a jolly good meal (lots of locally sourced seafood dishes) with excellent service. Very reasonable prices.

A traditional restaurant serving modern and British classics. French influences are also evident. Enjoy hearty dishes and fresh fish and seafood obtained from the beach the same morning! Enjoy a three course dinner from £27.25. Relax in one of the spaciou
Interested to see the previous review. Our party of four decided to eat here for lunch on Monday. One meal was fine, one average, and two inedible. My skate was completely off, with a strong smell of amonia, how this ever got cooked, let alone leave the kitchen is beyond us, chef, surely must have realised during the cooking process. Needless to say it was swiftly returned. My husband had fish and chips, the fish was just one big piece of oily batter with little or no fish inside, absolutely disgraceful, this too was returned. In circumstances such as these, we would have expected the chef or manager to come out and apologise, but no, it was left to the waiting staff, who didnt have the experience in handling such matters. As Aldeburgh has an abundance of fresh fish with a good choice of restaurants, we suggest that you revisit your food hygene procedures if you want to keep your customers and your business.Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you did not enjoy the experience. The skate was freshly delivered that morning and there were no issues with the other guests that were served skate. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your fish and chips. The fish was fresh and the batter freshly made. I fail to understand how there could be no fish in battered and deep fried dish.I was disappointed to note that you failed to mention that you were not charged for your meals when the Supervisor tried to do something about the situation, but I suppose that is fairly typical of such one sided reviews.

Whilst staying in Aldeburgh came across this excellent little restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food both on the menu and specials board also catered very well for gluten free can highly recommend and would not hesitate to go back it was a very packed evening but there was no wait for service or the food and there was no rush in between courses which in some places you can get so cannot wait to go back when next in the area

Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk'
We visited The Lighthouse for a second time following a year since last. Excellent all round restaurant for couples and family. Host is probably the most attentive I have had the pleasure of meeting and the food choice, wine list and staff all excellent. Will return.
