As a wine enthusiast I was keen to see the only two wineries in Myanmar. We went here for lunch. We were shown the Dornfelder and Shiraz vines and then the winery. Our guide was fairly knowledgeable and able to answer most of our questions about the winery. The tasting was rather cursory; we were given samples of the Sauvignon Blanc, the late harvested Sauvignon Blanc, the Rosé (Shiraz and Muscat), and the red (Shiraz and Dornfelder with a little Tempranillo) with no commentary. Both whites tasted very chemical, the Rosé was a little better, and the red not too bad (but still a little tainted) given its price. The really strange thing is that when we drank the same wines on our travels around Myanmar they were much better, suggesting they had been badly stored in the winery restaurant. Our lunch was OK, but nothing special. Whilst we were in Myanmar we visited the only other winery, Red Mountain, and I think the scenery at Red Mountain was better, but the wines poorer. If you have visited wineries elsewhere in the world and know a little about wine I donât think it worthwhile visiting either vineyard in Myanmar.
Friendly service, amazing food and great location. I come here several times a week and it really is one of the best options in Taunggyi. Have ordered pretty much everything in their menu and liked every single one of them. The bibimbap (off the menu) is awesome. Highly recommended.

We were in Indein to amire the old stupas and pagodas there (incredible sight!!) and we stopped at the Golden Kite for lunch for what was supposed to be an Italian al fresco interlude. The string was very nice, open air restaurant by the river-canal, sand even the menu was mostly Italian.Well, we started with a bruschetta, not bad, crispy bread, and the fresh local tomatoes. Then the pasta: tagliatelle with red sauce which were cold and overcooked, a disaster.I understand the cook has a wife or Italian girlfriend, but that is not enough to make him an Italian chef. It just does't do it. The strips of pizza that came along in the pasta plate, was average at best. The highlight of the lunch was the dessert: crepes with chocolate Nutella. It saved my lunch and I had a double serving. This place has potential but they have to learn how to cook pasta especially.
