Reviews on European food in Syracuse, Province of Syracuse, Italy. Once one of ancient Greece’s most important cities, today Syracuse (Siracusa in Italian) is a lively town of about 125,000 on Sicily’s southeast coast. The city overflows with amazing remnants from its long history. Romans, Vandals and Normans are but a few of those who ruled here after the Greeks. In Syracuse’s harbor, Ortygia Island (also called Città Vecchia or Old City) is the site of many of the main attractions, including the seventh-century cathedral and the Fountain of Arethusa.

We imagined and with care, given life to Room Cucina. Our pleasant and lively venue is where gastronomy, together with hospitality, becomes a moment of discovery. You can enjoy the spectacle of the sunset overlooking the port with a cocktail or a glass of
Wonderful experience! Stunning food, amazing service and a real tolerance of our lack of Italian. The veal steak was the best we have ever had. There was an excellent choice of starters but we can highly recommend the mussels with Camembert. The pasta and main courses were varied and none of us were disappointed. We would definitely come back. Delicious.

We were looking for another bar and stumbled across Cortile Verga as the little square with the bar in the background looked so appealing. It didn't disappoint, great cocktails, lovely for pre-dinner drinks. The bruschetta looked really good ut didn't try any due to our dinner reservation

Either book or get there at opening time as this is a very good restaurant serving lovely food and wine and it fills up quickly. You can sit roadside (fairly busy at times), in the front internal seating area, or in an internal courtyard. A warm welcome, good service, very tasty local food, itâs well worth the visit and youâll likely get food envy watching all the various dishes being delivered!

It was a pleasure to eat here in this small, super friendly restaurant. We left feeling happy. Beautiful presentation and amazing food without any pretense. My favorite dish was the swordfish caponata. And you have to save room for the lemon cake with little bits of pistachio.

Food is fine, but lacks atmosphere and is expensive for what you get. The staff were not terribly efficient and brought us the wrong order initially.

Restaurant, American bar, oyster bar open for lunch, aperitif and dinner. Fresh, fresh, fresh food, great variety of fine wine and spirits.
A small restaurant in Siracusa. Outstanding staff and really lovely food. We were made very welcome. Food included snack with pre dinner drinks, amuse bouche and pallet cleansing sorbet. The best meal we had during our 10 days in Sicily. Highly recommended.Thank you so much for your fantastic review.

Three of us called in several times during our stay in Ortigia. We had breakfast and lunch at various times - the food and drink was excellent (see pics) and backed up by really friendly service from the 3 ladies!Definitely well worth going a little off the beaten track to find them - highly recommended!!

In the middle of ortigia you can find evoè wine shop and tasting.the location is made off an aware renovation between old and new, where the wood, the stone and iron coexist giving the birth to a sophisticated place, but,at same time casual where you can buy
Three of us called in on a rainy evening. They recommended an excellent bottle of red which was also reasonably priced. We had the meat and cheese platter which was enormous and really tasty. We also found room for 3 excellent deserts which they matched perfectly with 3 different desert wines. All in all a lovely evening - we highly recommended Evoe!

Wonderful alfresco dining in a clean atmospheric alley with view of the sea. Lovely delicious food of seafood pasta. Staff were soooo nice and attentive. We went back twice for meals. If you are dining during the popular hours and want to dine outside you might want to make reservations.
