The food is made to order using local Franconian ingredients and traditional recipes. My Zander (Pike Perch fillet) was in a rich mushroom sauce served with noodles and a side salad. It was fantastic. Service was excellent and the owner-magager-chef (Bernd - who speaks English) came to visit. We were smart and made reservations for an early (17:00) Saturday dinner - the restaurant gets very busy later as it is popular with tourists and locals alike.

We had stayed at this hotel quite a few years ago and the food was then good. So, we tried it again under new management. We hadn't booked and the restaurant was full. Outside there is a "Biergarten" but it was too breezy. After looking at some other locations, we came back and got a free table. The service was very friendly and helpful. The menu suited our taste and we enjoyed two very good, if simple, meals. The price was reasonable and the portions more than adequate. Oh! and the beer and wine wasn't bad either.

The Gasthof Baeren at Randersacker is owned by the family Morhard for around 130 years. The menues are traditionaly Franconian. The family trusts in local products, starting with venison and fish from the region and continues with vegetables from local fa
We came here recently whilst on a self-catering holiday. It was our first time in Randersacker, and we were first attracted by the beautiful building. Not eating meat can sometimes be a problem in restaurants, but the delicious food here, and high standard of service, had us visiting again and again. The vegetarian options included an amazingly good pasta dish, with a wine sauce, vegetables and grapes. So yummy I had it three times ! (not on the same night, not that greedy!). On our last night we ate in the candle light courtyard, and I managed room for a more than tasty dessert of plums and 'quark'. Was given a woollen blanket to wrap round me when it got chilly. It goes without saying that the wine was exceptional - as all wine from this small town near Wurzburg.

We were in Ewig Leben last Saturday 18.10.2015. We can highly recommend this Restaurant for the high standards of food, prices and attentive service. A great place to visit, very close to Wurzburg.

Four of us had a Sunday Lunch at the crowded Ehrbar Fränkische Weinstube. Duck and Schnitzel are among the specialties. My wife had the boneless 1/4 duck and I the two schnitzels 'Wiener Art. The other couple had a Zander and a Mixed Grill. We also shared tastes of two different soups. Each dish was outstanding. My two schnitzels were thin, tender and juicy. The potato salad and cucumber side was moist and subtly seasoned. My wife's duck had a crispy skin and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The Zander was piled high in a bowl and was also done perfectly. The mixed grill was generous, flavorful and juicy too. All agreed that this was one of the best Gasthaus meals we have eaten. The local wines were of high quality and matched the menu descriptions.I give 5 Point ratings sparingly, but the Ehrbar earned its points on quality alone. The prices were also quite reasonable and the portions were generous. The full house caused the service to be hurried, but we never found the staff to be anything but friendly, courteous, helpful, patient and efficient.

We stopped off here on our way down to Munich and were delighted with our luck. Delicious local food, carefully prepared and presented- Schwäbische Hallische (speciality pig) schnitzel with potato salad and wild boar sausages with salad- and friendly service. To top it all, lots of local wines avavilable by the glass to try. We had a Regent 2010, an old grape coming back into fashion, which was super. We shall definiteley come back, and not just for a quick lunch en route. Eibelstadt is pretty as a picture, with a Weinfest...

We just returned from Germany where relatives took us to this restaurant. The place was so inviting and the food was fabulous. The service was friendly and it was our first meal in the area of Sommerhausen. We were certainly NOT disappointed. Everything was wonderful. We did not pay the check (relatives treated us) but the prices seemed comparable to the area.

Four of us ate a lunch from the mix-and-match menu. Our appetizers were nicely presented, tasty but a bit small in size. Two of us ordered the Angus Beef and two the Seeteufel. The beef was as good as any I have had anywhere in Europe and was made to perfection. The ladies were both disappointed with the Seeteufel. It was tiny in size and very ordinary. At best it was worth perhaps half the 25 Euro price. We tried three wines. The least expensive, the Silvaner by Rudolf May at 8,40 Euro was the best. The Chardonnay was disappointing and tasted as it was open a bit too long. It cost 9 Euro. The Red Cuvee was over 10 Euro and was the least satisfactory. All glasses were 0,15 liter. These wines were all extremely overpriced. So was the water, San Pellegrino at a shameless 7,20 Euro per bottle. I rarely quibble about prices. None of the four of us is a stranger to restaurants of this class. All felt that the prices were extreme and the portions smaller than reasonable. On the positive side, the service was above average and the building looked nice inside and out. We cannot recommend Restaurant Philipp because of the value delivered at the prices charged.
