After visiting a customer we where looking for a place to have lunch. We found this hotel / restaurant. Staff was very friendly and helpfull with the menu for our foreign guests. The lunch menu itself is not very extensive but that is not a problem at all. We had a tastefull potato/porridge soup with a salmon sandwich on (i guess) homemade bread. As we had to do more visits in the afternoon we where happy with the pace of the plates coming. All in All a very nice place for a stopover, I guess I will go back for dinner sometime.

The menu is not too extensive, but what they cook, they cook well. Fresh fish is fresh, and prepared in such a way that you taste the fish and not just the sauces. Serviced with fries, baked potatoes, salad. Good wine selection tops it off. Friendly good service. Well recommended when you're around Bruinisse!

Fantastic food from regional ingredients in the historical environment of the Roots of the Roosevelts, the famous world leaders whose ancestors left Oud Vossemeer to start a new future in New Amsterdam, currently New York...
Based on a recommendation we enjoyed a very nice meal at this establishment. I tried the sea bass which came wrapped in paper with also sorts of herbs inside. It was quite busy for this sleepy town. They have their own brand of beer brewed for them from Belgium which you should try if you go there. Our friend had alerted the owner that we were coming and after our meal he took us on a mini tour of the Roosevelt museum across the street. Quite an enjoyable evening.

We visited this place after exploring the region. The location is excellent, with a nice view of the surrounding polders.Staff is very friendly and working hard to please the customers, although I have the impression that they are a bit understaffed at peak hours, as we had to wait quit a bit to get our dishes on the table.Food is decent, although certainly not 'haute cuisine'. The Javanese chicken curry soup was delicious, main dish (beef) was on the bland side, standard fare so to speak. A pity that the beer glass was a bit greasy, not properly cleaned, resulting in a 'stale' beer.

With the current owners, Vluchthaven has changed from a luxury restaurant to a fairly simple brasserie in which you sit on second- or third-hand furniture. Fish is the mainstay of the cuisine which otherwise has Mediterranean traits. The food was lovely otherwise, and their white house wine quite good. On the Thursday that we visited, the restaurant was pretty understaffed with only one waiter for some 20-25 clients, but his friendliness compensated our waiting time. Prices, however, were quite high; we spent some 50-60 euros for a 3-course dinner.

Delicious Seafood and nice waitresses who helped with the Dutch only menu. We shared the Delta Menu with a sampling of three fish from the North Sea ... the fish was delicious, the Frites perfect, the salad was very tasty and the homemade remoulade sauce was yummy! I highly recommend a lunch or dinner at Bru 17 in Bruinisse. Just be warned - besides the Dutch only menu - they are closed on Mondays.

Buutengaats overlooks part of the Oosterschelde shellfish grounds. It serves mainly dinner for visiting yachtsmen and after visiting this place several times I would advise to order the simple and solid fish dishes. Service is fast and the wine list is very varied. In fact: Buutengaats caters very well for tired yachtsmen and other visitors as well. Keep their telephone number with you as the gate to the marina is sometimes closed.

Definitely a pub / restaurant, at which they do the fish preparation and cooking the one way (as the parents and grand parents did). It is good, but not an extraordinary culinary experience; there could be more salad with the meal.
