Never changes much.Some staff a little grumpy but the food makes up for it.Large carpark useful as it gets very busy.Veey family friendly restaurant.A reliable goto eatery.

My friends and I visited this restaurant on 8th Oct, I had been previously and knew the food was wholesome and very tasty! both girls were impressed with the service, food, sangria! and the price! The waitress was lovely and even sorted our taxi home for us. We had a lovely evening and WILL be returning in November but taking the boys next time!!

I ate here this lunchtime. The restaurant seats about 44 inside and at 13.05 it was about half full. By 13.20 it was full. The two waiting staff were welcoming, attentive, efficient and never flustered. (Immediately before writing this I looked at the one 1* and two 3* reviews and they are all very critical of the service. The most recent was written in March 2017 and whatever the staff were like then, now they are way, way above average for this part of the world). I was most impressed by their attentiveness without being overbearing. The premises are clean, neat and tidy without being clinical. The toilets were also clean and tidy. I cannot possibly deduct a star for there being too much choice of fillings, but that was my problem. I was a bit overwhelmed. My first "posh" burger could have been a little simpler without detracting from my enjoyment. Presentation was excellent and the hand cut chips very tasty.The "Gin Bar" looks to be very well stocked although not much in use this lunchtime.

We visited this beautiful rural restaurant during a two week break and we can highly recommend it. The local councillor Marlene and her partner Miguel booked the table for us and what a excellent choice it was the food was very tasty and the service was great .

I cannot believe no one has reviewed this restaurant. The cheapest, most reliable, best service grill restaurant in Sao Bras - always busy and lots of fresh fish for us non meat eaters. Chicken and chips is 4 euros - beat that!

Cheap and cheerful is how to describe this eatery. Known to most ex pats in the area, it gets really busy! If you donât get there early you will have to queue. Most people opt got the superb chicken and chips although there are lots of other things on the menu. The chicken is grilled over charcoal and is simply superb

We visited this restaurant with two Portuguese friends at 8.30pm so we were rather late. However they made us very welcome and were very attentive. We had two monkfish and prawn skewers and two black pork and prawn skewers and they were excellent. tasty and well cooked. The staff interacted with us all the time and nothing was to much trouble. A fantastic evening and thank you.

Came here for dinner on a friends birthday. As I wasnt feeling like eating meat that day, I asked for a salad, some potato chips, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed veggies, some aspargus and brocolli, wild rice and potato pure. Basically I've tried all the sides that they had in offer with the dishes. The restaurant was empty, so our table of 8 was the only one. The food took very long to arrive and when it did I understood that all of the food that I ordered that was supposed to be warm, just simply wasnt, not to talk about how plain and simple everything tasted. About the meat, I havent tasted it, but for the words of my friends, they weren't impressed.When I go to a restaurant I want to eat fresh and I want to eat delicious, but this wasnt the case. How can a restaurant be so good and then serve all of the sides straight out of the microwave? If this is one of the best I cant even imagine the worst.

Without doubt this is the best restaurant in Sao Bras de Alportel and we have eaten in most. We have been here on several occasions we have never been disappointed. From the warm welcome, the menu choice, the attentive service and finally and most importantly the superb food, everything here is wonderful.The food is awesome and the presentation really does do justice to the saying "you eat with your eyes", for every plate is a work of art in itself. The flavour and food combinations work well and portion sizes do not disappoint either. The homemade pate combination offered at the start of the meal is definitely a great beginning to a super culinary experience. We had a sirloin steak - cooked exactly as requested, and the sole as main courses, both were excellent and exceptionally good value for money. The dessert offerings were equally impressive and delicious.A fine dining experience in lovely surroundings at a price that certainly won't break the bank. If you are in the area of Sao Bras de Alportel you should not miss the opportunity to dine in Ysconderijo.

Our villa owners recommended this fabulous restaurant to us. It is housed in a large beautifully designed building which has bags of atmosphere. The staff, especially the Austrian owner were a delight. They took time and trouble to explain and suggest. The food was exquisite! This visit was one of the highlights of our holiday

Ate dinner here on 2 occasions recently. Good experience, had saffron tagliatelle with scallops on both nights as it was so tasty. Other half had steak on both nights. Nil extra with steak apart from chips so request vegetables & potatoes if hungry. Service was good. Restaurant wasn't busy by any means on either night but ambience was relaxed nonetheless. Would eat here again
