This is just next to Nelson Mandela square and you can have a nice lunch or dinner with watching the people who visits Nelson Mandela.I tried sea food plate with all fresh and tasty choices inside.Fish ,calamari ,prawns and mussels.The house wine was very good and cold .Service is very quick and friendly.Prices are reasonable and good.

This place promotes itself as a premium restaurant. Don't be fooled by the fake advertising. Its noisy and overpriced. We went for an evening with business partners. We could hardly talk to each other as the noise level in the restaurant as determined by a Cell noise level app was 86 decibels. That's like sitting by a very noisy road.The food was very average. My T-Bone stake was nothing more than a Rump with bone on two sides. Roast potatoes were soggy and the puree completely missing. All this for R350.00!! Rip off. When I complained to the floor manager he simply did not comprehend that a T-Bone stake should have meat on both sides of the T.The cutlery on the tables was basic canteen standard. I would have had a better experience at a franchise restaurant at a third of the price.

One of my go to places for fine dining places around Sandton and surrounds. Goods service, well presented dishes cooked to perfection.Staff welcoming, good fine dining etiquette.A whole range eats & selection of wines.Something about it says warmth, comfortable & total relaxation.Love it when there some live music entertainment on the background- Above average rates, but worth the effort.No complaints, hasnât disappointed at all. Overall, this place is solid 4 with excellent service and ambiance. We had a party of 4 for dinner. Both oysters and duck spring rolls were excellent appetizer choices. For entrees we ended up ordering lobster thermidore, chicken peri peri, sole in lemon butter sauce and beef fillet with green peppercorn sauce and steamed vegetables. Chicken was the most flavorful dish, lobster was good (a huge portion as well), beef fillet was subpar and sole was just a plain unmemorable and too dense fish entree. A quick comment on beef - this was not your typical 2 inch thick US fillet mignon, more of 1/2â properly cooked fillet. Steamed vegetables were severely undercoked. We ordered creme brulee and chocolate fondant for desserts, they were the best part of our dining experience. We had several different wines with our dinner and they were nice. Overall, we had a great time.

As we entered Piccolo Mondo, we were welcomed by almost every front line staff member. So nice to see so many happy staff member at 6:30am. We loved the variety of food on display for breakfast buffet. They have fresh fruit, cereals with yoghurts, juices, tea or coffees, cold meats, cheeses, Asian food, cooked breakfast. We had twice breakfast and once dinner. The breakfast is outstanding especially there breads and sushi. We loved it and service was 15/10. Dinner was no so good especially the veg mnu. Creative menu that will satisfy any foodie, making use of seasonal/local ingredients, presented beautifully by a chef who obviously takes pride in his work. He made a point of visiting our table when we arrived. We stayed at the hotel and liked the food so much we ate at the restaurant every night rather than venturing out. It all started well. The interior looked fun, quirky and arty and the chef/owner was friendly and hands-on. The starters were all delicious - our group had the fish cakes, springbok carpaccio and fried haloumi. For mains the T-bone was beautifully done and the pesto pasta good. My porcini risotto, however, was far too rich and porridgy and the pork belly was miles too sweet. I want to recommend to the owner that he adds a few healthier alternatives to the menu. Many modern patrons will take issue with all the rich food, fried starches and highly sugared items. The service was slow and rather absent. Would I go back? Probably not. What a great venue, ambiance, service and food. It was winter and they had fires outside to huddle around, before going in to the restaurant - a bit like going back into the past and reminded me of visiting Zimbabwe many years ago. Definitely an African theme. Itâs expensive, but the food is exceptional and very personalized service, including the owners/managers. Definitely worth a visit - just do it!
