I am sitting here now writing my review out of infuriation! The service is incredibly slow, to the point where we waited 20/30 minutes to have our drinks order made (of which I had to get the drinks menu myself). Then finally, the food took another half an hour (which is probably average). The food itself was very good but they did not come and ask us how our meal was, or ask for sauces or pepper (we were only given salt) we asked for water, it did not come at the same time as our drinks, it came with our meal?! Then, I ran out of source for my chicken so we asked to have some mayonnaise; we had to ask twice and then it came 15-20 minutes later, by then I had finished my meal. The woman came over and I said I had finished so she shrugged her shoulders and said basically âsozâ. It was not even a difficult task to ask for. Although, the male staff member was very welcoming and nice, I did not like the woman.

Deserves to have a higher rating than it gets on TripAdvisor.Stylish interior, excellent food and good quality wine. Describes themselves as three valleys food. So not just your typical Savoyard food. Had the most amazing artichoke lasagne. Delicious. Knowledgable and friendly owners serve you. Good value as well

The difficulty with formula lunches in restaurants is that a large group may misread the instructions and the bill becomes larger than necessary. However, thatâs the groupâs problem and the restaurant will benefit. Having said that, service was good, but the prawn salad was a bit mean with prawns, the Perrier water was expensive and the tone of the servers was merely businesslike.

visited here on 13-2-19 at 9pm. it was quite busy but we still managed to get a table for 4.. we ordered 3 50cl lagers 1 small bottle of evian water 2 alp burgers and 2 tartiflettesthe food came within 20 minutes. and it wasn't that great, the decor was dated. it did not seem that clean either. and it was a bit pricy. went back to our rented chalet feeling robbed of 116 euros. 3/10Hi there! Iâd like to be a bit more specific about what you said so the people could actually have a better idea of your experience. When you arrived in the restaurant at 9.00 we already served about 150 customers. As much as Iâd like my restaurant to be clean at all time, with all that trade itâs become very hazardous to reach that goal at the end of the night. We are doing our best to have the food delivered within 20min, trust me the kitchen size and the trade are making all that work very intense and our staff is actually doing there best at all time to make it happen!! Regarding your bill: you may have forgotten to mention that youâve order as well 3 small beers after the 3 larges a dessert, (chocolate fondant) and a digestif. Wich once add up make your bill goes up to 116.60â¬. The average spend is close from 20⬠for a drink a main a dessert and a coffe. Most of our customers keep coming back because we are one of the best price quality place in town... sorry you didnât feel that way. Cheers

This was our 2nd visit to L'Edelweiss, the last was about 6 years ago; and it was great to experience the same lovely homecooked traditional savoyarde food.We took our friends and we all had the set 3 course menu for â¬26 and each and every one was totally delighted with all our food. The entrecote steaks were notably juicy, melt in the mouth yumminess. And I didn't even have one, I had the gorgeous tender chicken wrapped in ham in a mushroom sauce, it was lovely. The potatoes were just beautiful, I could have eaten it all again. That sounds like the portion sizes were inadequate, far from it, all 3 courses were just perfect. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was we were a tad cramped, and we really didn't have time to sit, chat and have a digestif as our table was booked after us and the next lot of folk were standing behind us. A tad awkward.We will go back, the staff are so nice and friendly, and I'm so pleased that they are still there, after our first visit 6 years ago. I'd probably book a table if you go, it is small and very popular.

You need to book as this place is very popular. We got in on the third attempt an d it was worth it. The atmosphere envelopes you as you walk in and the open pit barbecue is manned the proprietor who cooks all the steaks, which are excellent.The cheese dishes, fondue etc. are very good too. Service is friendly and attentive, though when busy it's a touch slow, which is understandable. Recommended!

What a fabulous find this little hotel restaurant is!!! Stayed with friends for a long weekend. The rooms are comfortable clean and beautifully decorated. The husband and wife owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating, from booking our restaurants to wine recommendations and general chit chat. The food is wonderful and very well priced for the quality and service! The cheese trolley and hot chocolate are not to be missed!We canât wait to head back again next year. We were two couples and loved our visit to this small restaurant. We had the 60 euro "surprise"menu and were happy with every dish. The first one, a medley of fresh tomato preparations, was excellent. The smoked trout with oxalis herb also wonderful. The filet of beef quite tasty.perhaps lacking a tiny bit of tenderness.For 60 euros it is good value.We'll be back for the pigeon dish on the menu that sounded good.The meal began with a nice plate of amuse-bouches and ended with some mignardises.The wine list is very fine and the patronne can advise you gladly.
