I believe it the best gastronomic restaurant in the area, it is a bit pricey but worth the experience. Nice rustic deco, very welcoming staff, some speak English. Food is amazing: all seafood is very fresh and they use interesting ingredients, so if you looking for gastronomic experience, this is the place. Great choice of wines.

The external appearance is a bit underwhelming, a little bit weather-beaten and tired looking. Menu is a bit tricky to navigate for non-French speakers but with a little bit of patience was eventually deciphered ! Food was quite acceptable without being outstanding in any way. Sensibly priced so no complaints.

Le Caravel is very convenient for a good breakfast. The croissants / orange juice / coffee menu item is appreciated and saves a walk in to town. You an also order croissants there for collection the next morning

We revisited this restaurant and were again pleased with the friendly welcome and good food. The fish soup arrived in a vast tureen with all the accompanying cheese ,croutons and aoli, for one.The prawn starter was also of a generous size with sweet prawns.Wine and bread were good. The lamb skewers were tasty and the creme brullee and traditional far bretonne delicious.Good place for a traditional lunch featuring Brittany goodies.

A last minute choice but we were allocated a table on the terrace by the road where we could sit & watch France go by! Very reasonable food & excellent service.

Nice space in contemporary colours , with an upstairs mezzanine, facing across to the beach. We opted for the Coquilles st Jaques, then skate wing and a brochette of three fish. Excellent cooking of fresh fish, including monk fish. - Overall a good experience with efficient service. Later we had takeaway salads, super selection with fish, prawns and duck, and probably the best salads we have had.

II played golf @ St Cast on 31st July 2015 and visited the Clubhouse for the customary post round drink, and was taken away by the spectacular scenery over Pen Guen bay. I discovered the Restaurant run by Eric Aussietre offering a very tempting menu at reasonable prices. So a few days later I cam back with some fairly locals friends to sample the fayre & admire the magnificent views once more. My new & bubbly friend from the Proshop (Sylvie Andre) was so helpful in giving my friends directions how to get there as somehow they went to the other side of the bay!!!!!!Must mention that I had forgotten to book a table but our very efficient & friendly Krystel quickly managed to fit a table for us as we had travelled 80 miles to sample the food with our friends .The menu of the day was very tempting & well presented, tasting delicious, all local fresh produce. The pricing was very reasonable, we all had a very nice experience, choosing to drink our coffee on the open terrace overlooking the 18th green & the vast sandy beach . The tables for Lunch & dinner are set in a veranda with a roof that can open or close. I cannot forget the beautiful panoramic views, the sun was shining, the little boats & cliffs in the distance made it look just like a painting. The service was excellent & the atmosphere very enjoyable with families, couples, a good mix of people. After coffee, we went don to the huge sandy beach to test the water, it was about 19 degrees, so just a quick dip.I can highly recommend this restaurant, do try, you won't be disappointed by the food,Catherine service & welcome and the view.

We visited for lunch. I had prawns which were very nice and my wife had salmon tartare which was well presented and very pleasant also.I had sole meuniere to follow which was extremely enjoyable with perfect sauteed potatoes and a good assortment of vegetables including parsnip which is rare in France. A wholly enjoyable meal.My wife had skate which was served with capers and landed on top of a mixture of lentils and quinoa, red cabbage and some carrot puree. The skate looked grey rather than white. Quite unappetising.Service was excellent during a very busy lunch so no time for dessert as we had to push on.

If in St Cast you must visit this restaurant. The food is absolutely wonderful. Fantastic quality with local produce and cooked to perfection. The restaurant is mentioned in the Gault Millau book, so quality is of the essence. The beef brochettes were cooked to perfection and local meat. My wife and I had the cod. This to was cooked to perfection and with a lovely sauce. All in all a fantastic meal. Staff were brilliant and service impeccable. Well worth a visit.

Due to the reviews we expected a lot from this place. In retrospect we realize: some things were good, many things were not. Both appetizers were disappointing, the ravioli watery, the beetroots close to tasteless. Of two times calf one was massively tough. The pre-ordered dessert was sold out at the end. Conclusion: disappointing.Dear Francis, First of all thank you for your review. Your remarks imply an answer from us.The ravioli (which are 3) are not "watery". They came on plate with a celery water wich is a full part of the receipe. It's a shame that you didn't undersand that as it is written on the menu. The beetroot may not been your taste but how could be a beetroot tasteless ! It's marinated into red wine sauce and comes on plate with sour cream spum, smoked duckling breast, wild peppers mix and fines herbs ! Maybe the beetroot wasn't what you expected as you asked our waitress many times "what is a beetroot ?" ! I'm also really suprised about one the calf beeing "tough" as both of your pieces comes from the same animal. Nevertheless you didnt asked us for another one we would had been pleased to prepare again especially for you. Finally, again, we aplogogize that the chocolate dessert you pre-order wasnt avaiblable but I personnaly decided to don't serve it as it didn't meet the quality level that I impose on kitchens.
