Popped in here on a Saturday evening while on holiday. We arrived at 6pm and were the only diners however the place soon filled up. My partner had the duck which he felt was a little overdone but good all the same. I later heard another customer being asked by a different staff member how he would like his duck done, we were not asked. My haddock was good though rather large a portion for me personally. Dessert delicious. Will be back.

The Frigate Cafe and Bistro situated on the shorefront in Ullapool, Ross-shire. Open throughout the year offering mouthwatering food from Breakfast until Evening Dinner. Using the best of locally sourced produce wherever possible including locally caught
We were a group of photographers staying in Ullapool and ate here two nights running. The service really was great - two different young people and both were so friendly, attentive and quick. The food itself was really good. The guys in the group who chose the venison could not have been happier! I went for the veggie curry one night and langoustines the next. Both really tasty. Iâll. be back next time in the area for sure! You wonât be disappointed !

Visited twice recently and second visit as good as the first. Had lunch both times and found the 2 course lunch menu great value and went on to have dessert etc. Food presented beautifully and was as good as it looked. Staff so pleasant and accommodating. I would suggest this is a real asset to Strathpeffer and hope locals as well as visitors take the opportunity to visit. One real blessing no smell of stale cooking oil that one so often comes across when trying to find an eatery. So highly recommend and thank you Red Poppy, you deserve to do well based on the service we received.

We were staying locally and our b&b recommend here. The decor is perfect for the theme and makes a great atmosphere. All the staff were calm, friendly and attentive. To start we had delicious tomato and basil soup, thick, warming and a great starter. I had oriental lemon chicken and noodles and OH had sweet and sour chicken - both dishes so flavoursome and interesting. Really generous portions so we didnât have pudding. Would highly recommend and would come back if we were in the area.

Our B&B recommended this restaurant to us. This is absolutely the best meal I've ever had in Scotland.I will remember the fish dish that I had till the day that I die! I feel myself salivate now when I think of the generous onion rings we also ordered. I also picked off my dining partner's pork dish and it was heavenly. The ambience was warm and friendly and the restaurant faced the water. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy but we were attended to well throughout and never lacked for good service.

Staying in Fortrose and was recommended to go to Sutor Creek, so booked a table as it was a friends birthday.Service was great.Food was fab.The shock was the bill at the end - I think £168 for 4 was expensive and thatâs with a round of drinks (2 of which was soft drinks)

Because of we had no reservation for the much more cosy Red Poppy this was our only dinner option near Strathpeffer. The restaurant is in a very posh castle hotel. The nice environment is it's main attraction. The food is fairly moderate with a high price.
