"Kast loss" means "let go the fastenings". You are into a nice experence when visiting . An old wooden workshop converted to a cosy restaurant by the seaside. Excellent chef ! Try his tapasbar ! Floating bar for the thursty soul on a floating barge across the quai.

Moderne Tapasrestaurant og artisan patisserie i historiske omgivelser, med stor fokus på lokale og norske råvarer. modern tapas restaurant and artisan patisserie located in an historical environment.
With a great view over the harbor the restaurant has found a good location. I must admit that my expectations to tapas in a small Norwegian town was somewhat limited. I was surprised and positively so. The tapas was very well prepared combining traditional tapas ingredients with cross over towards Norwegian local products using the splendid local sea food. In short a great meal where the whole family enjoyed trying out the menu. Friendly service and not too badly prices either. The waiter told me that they are trying to stay open all year which is a great plus in a town where the tourist season is short and hectic. Definitely a place to come back to.

You cannot miss one of Norway's popular chamber music festivals falls often on late June in Risør. The Saturday concert at "Island Stangholmen" is one of the highlights of the festival. It takes 10-15 minuttes by boat from Risør to arrive Stangholmen. Concert tickets include the boat trip as well. Restaurant at Stangholmen offer nice food but it may take some time probably because of the festival. There are musicians practicing before the concert.Tunes from harp, Beethovan's "Moonlight sonata" from Grand piano and clarinet which will embrace you tenderly. You will definitely experience a fairy tale in the small Island Stangholmen if you visit the Saturday concert.

We ate twice here, once when we had just come into Risoer after a grueling 20 hour journey, and once later in the week. Basic food - pizzas, pasta and the like is served by friendly multinational Norwegians. One waitress was originally from the Congo, and was happy to speak French, others were more local; all were very helpful. Nice atmosphere, right on the sea front, with views over the harbour and shipping.
