Located on a cobblestone street in downtown Richmond, Bobette is more stylish restaurant than bistro. Muted gray seating and white tablecloths are not what âbistroâ brings to mind. The menu has many choices that I havenât seen anywhere lately, and we just came back from a trip to Paris. The Thursday 3 course menu included a salad, main and dessert for a reasonable price. And the main was skate which I love and havenât had in quite a while; it was beautifully presented with freshly creamed mashed potatoes. The lemon crepe dessert was very nice. My partner had foie gras (not pate) which was ethereal. And oxtail ravioli in a leek truffle sauceâ¦killer! The service was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The wine list has some good values and some fancy expensive bottles if youâre so inclined. If I lived in Richmond this would be my go-to place.

I have to echo some other reviewers . - the owner was rude and gruff. I asked which was best between two dishes and he said get the grilled sausage. It was ok but I think the cabbage leaves or goulash would have been better. The ice tea was terrible. One in our party had to order something else to drink. We had a hard time getting someone's attention to get refills. The rolls could have been used as hockey pucks.

This venture is located in Richmond downtown. Parking is not a problem since there is two huge size parking lots just behind it. The place is very bright and spacious with modern décor. Itâs all window exterior walls, lets you watch the street activity. The seating area is organized in three separated areas, two are table seating and the other one is the Bar counter seating. The servers were good and faster and the food very tasty, really very well presented, with a good size serving. Catering is also available. No doubt this is one of the places to be when in Richmond.
