Aufgrund des positiven Bewertungen haben wir problemlos telefonisch einen Tisch für zwei Personen reserviert. Das etwas abgelegene Restaurant ist herrlich gelegen mit einem wunderbaren Blick über die Rheinebene. Wir entschieden uns für das 4-Gang-Menü "Pfälzerwald" und das 5-Gang-Menü "Zur Rose". Aus der (etwas zu groÃen und ein wenig unübersichtlichen) Weinkarte wählten wir einen Chardonnay vom Weingut Koch in Hainfeld.Die Speisen waren ausnahmslos lecker und schön angerichtet (lediglich die SteinbeiÃerbäckchen wirkten etwas überwürzt). Die Portionen waren für uns fast ein wenig zu groÃ. Der Service war aufmerksam, angenehm zurückhaltend und sehr professionell.Das Preis- Leitungsverhältnis ist ausgezeichnet.Hinweis: das Restaurant ist für Menschen mit Behinderungen nicht geeignet, da nur über zwei Treppen erreichbar, ebenso wie die Toiletten.Fazit: jederzeit gerne wieder, besonders für einen romantischen Abend

The restaurant was a random choice on a recent visit but we were ecstatic with not only the food but the pleasant eversmiling waitress. Complimentary starters was the cappuccino soup.. delicious. We also had the asparagus soup which was equally flavorful. Ox-cheek was the special of the day and the accompanying sauce was great. The piece de resistance were the desserts - the rhubarb creme brulee is worthy of special mention. The restaurant would have been missed because of its understated exterior, but we were glad to have experienced such wonderful food.

The 'Wein-Castell Diehl' in Edesheim is a very nice place to have lunch or dinner, if you are in the LANDAU wine area. The food of the restaurant is very nice and very reasonably priced. Their wine list is also very good. Service was very nice and friendly. Can only be recommended.

The food is great, as is the service. Very professional.If you don't reserve a table, you'll likely not get one.We had the traditional Goose dish, but I've eaten here in the summer and have always had excellent food quality.Somewhat pricey, however.

The food here is worth every penny (it tends to be on the pricey side) - excellent quality, portions, presentation. We had a fantastic table on their terrace which is covered by a giant foldable umbrella. Unfortunately, it doesn't keep the cold out and towards the end of the meal, it got way too cold even for me (I tend to sit out in shorts in 15°). Heaters had been removed because the umbrella is now opened during the day. There is indoor seating available, of course.Service was very friendly but obviously still in training.I would definitely go again!

Had a family re-union, did a hike through the vinyards in the autumn sun ending up in Sesel (very nice).Nice menu with a good selection, everybody found something, served in well-sized portions, deliciously prepared.HOWEVER the service was not able to cope with the demand so we had to wait for orders being collected, drinks served, food served. We waitied for almost an hout to get our food which was a desaster as we were 4 adults and 6 children between 2 and 11. Why stupid? Because we did order well before our neighbors who had pretty much the same except the kids selection - no kids - but got served half an hour before us. By the time we got our food, our kids were running riots and we couldn't enjoy our meal anymore. stupidstupidstpid, expecially as two of the kids dishes got served as the last two for the whole table. On the upside, nobody did complaint about the "lively" kids....still, one star off the rating for that.Dear FRuudy,thank you for taking your time to assess our Gasthaus Sesel. We always try hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible. But it is also good to get a notice that something didnât work out well as we can then try to change things and get better this way. We are very sorry that you havenât been satisfied with your visit in our Gasthaus Sesel. We can understand your anger and your lack of understanding because of the long wait which is quite difficult, especially for the children. Unfortunately, today we canât understand anymore how this could happen. But still we use your critique as an opportunity to talk about this topic with the members of service and kitchen staff and to point out the special needs of smaller children.We think that everyone deserves a second chance. Having arrived the day before from Hong Kong and went with a brest friend to Hainfeld to visit the Borrell Diehl Vinery opposite, which most unfortunately was closed this Sunday.It being lunchtime we went to have a local meal so we entered the Dorfbrunnen, where i dined frequently years before when still living in Germany. The restaurant was packed but we were lucky to immediately get a table for two.The reception was warm and welcoming and the service quick and professional.I went for a beef fillet with a calvados cream sause and home made spaetzle - the button shaped ones. The meat was juicy and tender, the sauce with clear calvados taste but not over powering the taste of the dleicte meat.We had a great local red wine with the red meat, brining up good memories of my numerous journeys to this lovely wine growing village.We concluded with a Borrell Diehl Chardonnay Trester Brandy (Grappa) which made a great end to a great meal.Highly recommended. Great german food in a cosy and comfortable setting.

This restaurant is in the famous Theresienstrasse of Rhodt and located in a beautiful old building. It offers local cuisine and, of course, great wines from the region (red, white, rose) as well. Apart from the lovely interior, the outdoor sitting is just fantastic if the weather is nice.The menu is a fine selection of local cuisine and a few international dishes such as homemade Italian pasta.If you happen to be in Rhodt or in the area, do not miss it!

Yes, very impressed with this village restaurant.Not a huge choice ( which can be a bonus) and home cooked meats a speciality.The lady owner speaks English and the other staff are attentive and friendly.The steak ( Argentinian rump) was cooked to perfection, and was brought to the table by the chef who also came back to check all was ok.Yes, we will return here.
