Been here couple times. Every visit worth a trip Katcha is splendid cook and good hostes as well. Try fish soup and prawns also kokin suosikki is good (chef favorite). House Burger was a huge hit for us after three days of festival.Cheers Katcha see you in summer:)

Cafe Restaurant Harjun Portti is situated near a holiday centre park. It's a good stop for a decent lunch. Prices are, like most of the lounas, very affordable. This is the ideal spot for tourists who want to do some outdoor activities. Within walking distances you can rent bikes or a boat, or just go hiking. Lovely place!

One fancy eating traditional food of local fresh igredients I warmly recommend Lusto restaurant in Punkaharju only 26 kms from Savonlinna. Food is tasteful and good.Restaurant is nice and tidy with a beautiful view to forest and lake.It's located in the same buildind with the Finnish Forest Museum.

Located on a beautiful lake route from Savonlinna to Punkaharju, this restaurant appears suddenly, and you may take it as a small kiosk or tiny cafe. Happened to us several times driving that route before I finally stopped there.The place is run buy dedicated owners and is a full scale restaurant with a tasty menu offering fresh fish and wonderful cakes. You can sit actually by the lake, enjoying the view to a Finnish lake in its natural beauty. No even the usual telecom masts in the horizon.The service is frienly and quick, and in case of a sudden drop of summer rain, the seating area can be quicly covered with moving roof. Recommended!

This place has recently transformed into a wonderful hotel and a restaurant where, it seems, every detail has been thought through. We had lunch and even though it was a bit pricey, the food was really good. Everything is produced in the restaurant or near it. Restaurant/hotel is located on top of a hill and the scenery is wonderful. It's the kind of scenery you many times only see in the travel brochures. I definately recommend it if your wallet is up to it.
