enjoy the personal reception by the landlord, his recommendations and his jokes and humour(unfortunately only in the local dialect), savour the excellent fish and meats and taste their local wines. the bill will leave you enough to offer the gentle waiters a generous tip. simply enjoy!

Our German family put together this party for over 20 people. They were helping us celebrate of 25th wedding anniversary. The food, the drinks were great. The wait staff was wonderful and kept our plates and our glasses full. We were there until 24:00 celebrating the day.

We enjoyed a meal on the terrace. Typical German (or better Franconian) stuff: good schnitzel. The wines by glass we enjoyed are good to very good and sold in 0,25l glasses - which is rather common in zgermany but not where I am from - from good local producers. Fair bill, friendly service and view on the monastery.

We eat at the Weissen Lamm several times each year. It is always a superior meal. There are two dining rooms on the ground floor decorated in typical Gasthaus style. On the first floor are larger dining rooms used for bigger groups. The restaurant is especially known for its Duck, Goose and Schäufele. We had the latter. What we have noticed on our last few visits is that the portion size is shrinking and the prices creeping up. Still, the meal is filling for non-gluttons and not unreasonably expensive. The service is rushed but mostly efficient. The restaurant offers a good selection of their own wines. They are reliable from year to year, if not among the town's very best. The restaurant has a large and loyal following. Reservations are usually necessary.

I visited Volkach with family and friends and stopped at Hinterhoefle for dinner. The town was very busy with a lot of people enjoying the pleasant weather. I had a salad that was very large and well seasoned and have some beer. Others in my party had typical entrees. Quality of food and service were good. A little more expensive than other restaurants in small towns around Bavaria, but it worth.

Stopped in this wonderfull little town in Franken for a break and to have lunch. When we found Torbach, we were happy to experience a very nice athmosphere as well as an excellent food and wine selection. The restaurant was very authentic and you could easily imagine turning your clock back a century. So try it if you're in this area.

Saw this Gasthaus recommended in a wine book, so took the detour. I was definetely worth it. I arrived on a sunday for lunch and had to share a big table as it was almost full of locals having their sunday lunch. Looked like most of them had the fish. I was not super hungry so had a local soup and a local sausage with sauerkrat and then one of the local wines and everything was phenomenal. Would have like to try to go all in but must be next time I'm in the area.
This was a stupendous meal made from local seasonal ingredients (the venison was felled by the local count in his private woods!). They were also very accommodating to ensure we had a room directly over the dining room so the baby monitor worked. I would stay here again when next in Wiesenthid

Four of us ate there recently. As it was a bit chilly, we elected to eat inside instead of the very attractive garden. The interior was well appointed in the Gasthaus style, although it did not appear to have been remodeled in the past several decades. The menu was replete with regional dishes. The wine list was a less than distinguished selection of local wines, but at very reasonable prices. Alas, as we tasted several, their quality matched their low prices. The four of us ordered three different dishes and then we shared tastes. All dishes were appealing to the eye and the portions were satisfying to the typical gourmand. Prices were a bit higher than normal, but we all felt they were in line with the quality. There ware some small irritants with the side dishes, but the main courses shined. For example, I did not expect to have refried Spatzle with the outstanding pork Lende. Not all of us had room for dessert, but those who did, were enthusiastic about the quality and appearance.Service was proper and efficient. Our total bill, including tip came to 95â¬. You can certainly eat for less in the Prichenstadt area, but you will not eat better than at Zur Krone.Be advised that the restaurant is not in the town of Prichsenstadt, but in the neighboring village of Brünnau. Give yourself an extra 15-20 minutes to walk through that lovely village.Vielen herzlichen Dank für Ihre ausgesprochen gute Kritik.Ihr KronewirtMarkus GeiÃel
