Recommended by the hotel who referred to it as the brewery. It's in a shopping centre, semi pedestrianised. I can't explain why but somehow everything just worked and it was a really pleasant evening. We had mushrooms in garlic butter with ewes milk cheese (shared 1 portion) which was delicious and schnitzel. We drank the local house wines served in small carafes, white burgunder and red dornfelder. Good atmosphere, excellent young waitress who served the whole restaurant single handed.

This restaurant is in the middle of the woods. Good priced German food. The owner is extremely friendly! He speaks good english. Saturdays are burger days. Theres a playground for the kids out in the front. Bring a flashlight if you are staying after sunset cause it gets dark when walking back to the parking lot but thats Germany for you. Also the food taste home made so they may take a while cooking it so be patient its worth the wait unless you want crappy mcdonalds.

This is a family restaurant with the food of Crete. I always order the calamari, and they have the best grilled liver I think I have had anywhere. They are skilled with the grill, and also make a decent martini.

We stopped in to Pirmasens over the holiday and quickly discovered Da Mario. We were so impressed with our first meal of pasta and lobster, that we went back for several more meals! Across the board, each dish we had was beautifully prepared with excellent sauces and delicious flavors. The service is wonderful, and Mario, the owner, is there at all times, making sure his customers are happy. Finally, we found the prices to be extremely reasonable - we couldn't possibly eat this well for this cost, in the USA. If you find yourself in this town, make sure you visit Da Mario for some superb, gourmet Italian food !
We live not close to this Restaurant, but the quality of the food and the family kidness of the owner definitly make me elect this Restaurant one my preferite. The quality of all foods we have tasted ( snitzel, ribs, rumpsteak) were very high. Entry salat was surprisingly awsome for freshness also for quality of balsamic vinegar. The owner was really kind and let us taste also extra dishes. I really recommend this Restaurant

The brewery offers nice unfiltered local beers and typical German dishes - both great value for the price. If you like traditional German food you won't be disappointed - everything we tasted was great and authentic. Atmosphere is typical German as well - the nice view to the city hall outside and the copper kettles inside just add more to it. Service is good and pretty fast.

Recently, I was lucky enough to eat here three times whilst staying at the hotel on business - twice in the lovely restaurant and the other time for a business buffet. I must say I really like the food that comes out of the Kunz kitchens. Most memorable for me were the roast beef (buffet) which I thought was absolutely exceptional and the foie gras starter (restaurant) which melted in the mouth and was completely delicious. The staff and service delightful as always.
